Because I don't know where to buy Lion other than Mac App Store. yup. is possible to install OSX on a normal PC and depend on ur pc spec as well that match to it. thats why this hackint0sh thread is here. for the source of the OSX we cant discuss on here due to privacy.

or as wiraone mentioned, wait for another month but the price on that usb dongle is ..well interesting. lol --- Users who do not have broadband access at home, work or school can download Lion at Apple retail stores and later this August, Lion will be made available on a USB thumb drive through the Apple Store® (www.apple.com) for $69 (US). --- http://www.apple.com/pr/library/2011/07/20...-App-Store.htmlThis post has been edited by olivur: Aug 2 2011, 06:55 AM

guys, i want to get an affordable pc and i thought why not make it mac compatible? so what i need is a build that is as strong as mac mini 2011 only and can install mac os easily. this is the main spec for the mac i mentioned: i5-2520M 4gb 1333mhz ram 500gb 7200rpm hdd radeon 6630M i need something just as strong as this not a super pc or anything. if price was no issue then i would just buy the real thing lol
no need for mince/keyboard/monitor btw

@olivur, haha, sorry, didn't know it is not a rumor anymore but announced already. TQ for the link. So, this is the best option for you guys. If you want to go for SL + Lion way, the cost will still be the same I believe. SL is RM109 + US$30 (bare in mind, availability of SL is 1-2 week.. guess they don't want to sell it anymore). @CatDog, I believe what you're looking is actually a desktop PC. i5/2400, 4GB RAM, 1TB HD, Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3. Problem will be the graphics card. The popular among Hackintosh users, the Radeon 5770 is hard to come by now. So check what are working for Lion here. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=256103 and here http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewforum.php?f=15.

@CatDog, well, the cheapest i5 desktop CPU will set you around RM500++, probably you want to go for a cheaper motherboard since you won't overclock the CPU, go for Gigabyte GA-H67MA-UD2H-B3 around RM300.

@CatDog, on motherboard, if you want to have Hackintosh system with less headache, go for Gigabyte no less. BTW, was told by one forumner, the one available here is the GIGABYTE H67MA-USB3-B3 not the one I said in the reply before.

I've burned Lion into USB thumbdrive, managed to boot up using USB, but im stuck with the installation part. It doesnt let me install to the partition because my harddisk is using MBR, but it requires GUID Partition Table. Is there any way to install lion into a MBR partition harddisk?

If yes, why don't you go ahead creating a GUID partition table. If you want to install Win7 later on, you can always create an NTFS (or FAT32) partition using diskutility first before booting up Win7 installer.

The problem is I already have Windows installed on the HD and there are many important files on it. I think the only solution now is to buy a new HD

You could try nawcoms modified OSInstall framework and mpkg for Lion, should work with MBR Partition. Nawcom's BlogAny reason you need MBR partiton? Planning to dual boot with Win XP or you had extra space of hdsik on a MBR disk. cheers!

My motherboard is GA-EX58-UD5, i successfully installed Lion, everything running perfectly(after hours of fixing), but I still can't get one thing to work, Sound. I tried different kexts but none of them work. Anyone using the similar motherboard as mine can get the sound works?
