Unfortunately, Samsung SET it to 500ma for car chargers (for USB charging it's even worse, just 2 BLOODY MA). So ACTUALLY, it's really of no REAL use if you use a 2.1A OR 1A charger - I use GPS + Streaming radio + bluetooth to car FM transmitter, my 2.1ma charger tops my SGS2 at a rate of -4% per hour.

Saturn_de has a few kernels with this corrected - charging rates are set to 650ma for car chargers. BUT, your screen will get fcuk hot due to this. Also, the kernels are not Tegrak friendly AT ALL.

Incidentally, I THINK the AC charging rate is ALSO limited to just 700ma.

well, at my time we got to choose btw those 2 or 8gb MicroSD. i chose MicroSD since i already have CaseMate & Nillkin case.

So if for car charger, any charger above 500mA will do its job well right? I just bought RedHot 570mA car charger last week

In a way they are not talking nonsense. Higher power output still might be able to charge your phone faster. Cheap chargers might say for example put output as 500mA, but internal resistance and all the cheap components might degrade the output thus its not trully 500mA.

Its always advisable to get a good charger.

Not all phones accept the same charge. HTC phones accepts the highest charge among the many phones i've used. Their 1A charger charges really fast compared to charging at 500mA over the usb port.

so car charger actually no use?

i tested charge using the usb power charger which suppose for ipad, the charging speed is faster than the ori charger.. i can see it move like 1% for 1 minutes at least..but when i change to those usb power charger which write there 500mah output, the speed noticeable slower a lot a lot....

Nope. They are useful but if you buy those cheap ones So you get the point.
