No probs with MMS over here, Celcom.

Oh, and I don't know what voodoo Chainfire was doing to his drivers, but Galaxy On Fire 2 now is glitch free - at least around the part I was playing. And with MSAA 4x (which comes free without any performance impact thanks to our Mali graphics), it looks like nothing the iPhone 4 could pull.

And trust me, I FINISHED the game on the i4 and it didn't look half as good as on the SGS2.

Interesting, in 2.3.4, if you turn on bluetooth while there are active bluetooth devices present, a notification pops up to tell you about it, and provide you with a very handy link to bluetooth preferences.

Very nice. Wasn't there before, that's for sure.

Maxis Galaxy S II units can't play On Fire 2? sad.gif
*
Out of the box, no.

ROOT (CWM) -> install chainfire3d pro -> install plugins -> install drivers (CWM) and download, install plugins, fix market -> install GOF2 THD -> select per-app, Galaxy On Fire 2, plugins, tegra -> enjoice.

On my Exynos, take that nVidia.

And I could play BackStab HD/Xplane 6 too, thanks to CF3D.

For those who are planning to buy Microsd card...I advise you to read the thread in XDA forum. Link below.
Class 10 Microsd Card?
Class 10 card might be fast in transferring files but it suffers in Random Read/Write speed which actually affects the daily performance and speed of phone...

Some Class 4 cards has better Random read and write speed than a Class10.....hence, you might want to be clear what you priority is...

Just my 2 cents...
*
As I've been saying since V6... But really, go for class 6s

Oh and I take back what I said earlier about the touchscreen fix. I dunno if it's working, but it seems to.

And loss of the ability to draw a rectangle with 4 fingers is nothing compared to being able to have a more sensitive touchscreen.

the app top black parts can be used to test the sensitivity, can i know in which app do you need to draw a rectangle? so far the only prob i had was when playing starfront:collision, sometimes when i wanna click a building, my units go where i clicked instead  doh.gif  other than that i enjoy being able to modify my equalizer bars easily and not need to move abit which makes the bar jump and ruin the settings  shakehead.gif , noticed this problem some time ago.
*
Ah so THAT'S why setting sliders was such a PITA. I thought there was something wrong with the way android made UI elements for sliders.

Anyway, LIKE I SAID, loss of drawing 4 fingered rectangles will not be missed. BUT, with the threshold removed, the screen will be a TAAAAAD more jumpy - like you experienced in Starfront.

I'm enjoying it nonetheless and hopefully Chainfire bakes this into the CWM kernel someday.

MY SPECIAL REQUEST to all new users :

1. Please post your questions here. I have been receiving too many PM. I always answer all my PM but sometimes I am busy, not online and could not response immediate . Infact 99.9999 % of the PM to me is 99 % of the time, answers are already in page 1

2. Posting your questions here, will have a faster answer as there are too many seasoned and experienced users here who could answer your questions

3. PLEASE do at least the following before asking any questions. Sometimes questions not answered are repeated questions that had been asked umpteen times and answered umpteen times. As this thread is still new, you could try search answers first at version 6 or 7
Learn to use " Search Topic" at bottom of the webpage , example " where to buy micro SD card?" , " how to root?", how to backup" etc etc - and you will see all postings related to these
Last but not least , please checkup Page 1 FAQ, FAQ2, Roms sections for any similar questions first. That is main reason why these postings at page 1 are done - for your convenience
*
In other words: FOR THE LOVE OF GOD ONLY ASK QUESTIONS THAT IS NOT ON THE FRONT PAGE PEOPLE.

Phew. Seriously, the late-X/Y generation needs to learn how to read.

Villain 2.0 is ooookay. Nothing much besides the goodies that 2.3.4 stock brings + a laggy stock browser lol. But I use Xscope anyway so no biggie.

Just installed OpenTyrian (huraaaah!), now for some Baldur's Gate action.

Oh and just dropped my SGS2 from the height of a cupboard top onto a tile floor. FACE FIRST... sweat.gif

The "loose" Ultra Capsule and it's subtle lid prolly saved it from most of the damage, but the battery cover got loose in the process ( shocking.gif ) and my SD card gegar a bit = unmounted.

So I turned the thing off, popped the SD card out and in again, re-closed the battery cover and rebooted. The SGS2 chugged along like nothing ever happened lol. Maybe Samsung DID make this thing tough after all.

the plastic backcover's "legs" all still there? none of them broke? screen still solid? cupboard height, can gimme estimate? wow this shit is really tough  blink.gif
*
Legs all seem to still be there - the battery cover is still as hard as crap to open really. Screen - yep solid.

Try the height of the top of a normal wooden door straight to a hard tile floor, face first.

I heard the "smack" and thought she was a goner edi. Thankfully, the SGP case was there - though the shock was bad enoughlar if my SD card and battery cover all can become a tad loose.

If it was my old iPhone 4, I really think at least one side would be cracked edi - especially considering its weight. Now we know why Samsung made this thing:

a) So freaking light.
b) Out of a whole lot of plastic.

Plus it likes to FC. Sticking with the less customizable, yet still functional Executive Assistant lock screen for now. No FCs yet.

+1 On the READ FIRST PAGE YA N00BS disclaimer on the thread.

Now to wait until someone ports Jagged Alliance 2 to Android. And Descent.

Because you are a User, not just a Buyer. Now go get your SGS2 and come join us!

@UncleBenny: RAS, boss. ROM Acquisition Syndrome.

But really, this "thing" that we're cooking, flashing, modding, adjusting, comparing --> isn't it more "Firmware" then "ROM"?.

I guess it came from those old WinMo days where ROMs ACTUALLY meant ROMs - stored in a saparate part of the internal memory, not accessible EXCEPT by flashing.

Try CrystalDiskMark on the PC + card reader = for Random Read and Write speed? If it's as good as those numbers, I gotta get one myself in 32GB flavour.

Right now holding on to next pay for a Sandisk 4.

Well guess what guys, in my quest of endless tinkering, I discovered that the SGS2's USB-OTG WORKS WITH 1.8' EXTERNAL HDDs, even without external power.

Seems that it works with the Samsung S1 (figures) - though the disk will HAVE to be reformatted in FAT32, unless you do the NTFS hack I mentioned a while back (it's in front page).

I wonder if it will work with the Transcend StoreJet 18M, because that will be RAD.

having used for almost a week... i think the original rom is good! initially i wanted to root and modify so the home page is page #4 coz i din wanna swipe 6 times to get from page 1 to page 7. but just found out i can hold and slide to move from one page to another... so, i'm ok with that.

will share more later. so far... i like touchwiz (ya, i surprised myself too). having said that... generally ppl say htc sense is even better... if i'm already happy with touchwiz, i wonder what abt sense! smile.gif
*
Don't worry, you're not missing much. Sense is... *looks around for CelcomAxiata*... a bit SENSEless.

It eats up memory like god knows what, and slows down your system. IMHO unless you're British, you really don't need a weather widget so huge that everything else fades to obscurity.

Then I guess stock will work fine for you ^^..  tbh, I just want the themes some ROMs provide..

I use

1. Go EX Launcher
2. GO SMS

So already can theme inside tongue.gif  Just want the battery icons on top and the extended boot menu provided by custom roms.  The only thing I don't like about CR is that deodexed browsers lag in general when scrolling.
*
The browser lag CAN be fixed, you know. And like I said before, stock browser is REALLY quite feature sparse if you intend to REALLY browse heavily. The HW acceleration is nice for flash, yes, but otherwise the dual core proc makes any browser fast anyway.

Plus the crappy checkerboard and text reflow problems in stock.

Also, I'm wondering what you guys are running for so many to get reboot problems. Ever since I for got the SGS2, the thing has only freeze rebooted on me like 3-4 times, and even then due to excessive system mods.

Sample variation?

Hi guys,

I just tried Xscope Browser today....I felt that it consumes battery quite fast...any of you using Xscope, do you feel that it eats more battery juice compared to let's say Opera Mobile...

but definitely, Xscope is real fast in opening webpages, faster than Opera....
*
Xscope is the only thing I use. And yes, it sucks battery like a demon, the flatblack UI theme helps a bit.
