I ordered from EON Muar.

I gave the model number someone here or at PIOC mentioned (8614A038 - shahie)

I have to wait for 1 unit first to see whether it works or not before ordering more

What do you guys think about changing the default inspira rim? I've got an offer to change to 17" rims and wondering if I should take it. The black rims look really nice lol but at the same time also worry about warranty issues if anything happens.

From what I have been told is that if we change rims then we would have to do alignment again which the possibility of affecting the brake pad, not sure how true it is though.

Any of the seniors here wanna share about your thoughts on changing rims?

if not mistaken its syntium 1000 for mitsu, but i am
using syntium 3000 now..i would say they do force you to use petronas oil else they say other oil may voil warranty...scare you & you will agree to petronas...
*
thats the thing about driving new car.
gotta use the expensive thing they recommend else warranty void.

QUOTE(tzeweng @ Jul 8 2011, 04:01 AM)
i tink all inspira drivers hv to be pro ... once u ask a slightly amateurish question also u will hv to be prepared to get bashed.. too many pros in this thread
*
it is good to have pro's here if not you won't get the answers you want.
as long as you give the details of what is required.

QUOTE(ckk125 @ Jul 8 2011, 06:51 AM)
city high FC? i dont think inspira can outdo a city in terms of FC, 2.0 vs 1.5.
*
FC is more about power to weight ratio than pure engine capacity.
the city she is driving is the new one she bought in 2009 (1.5 + normal automatic).
unfortunately for the malaysian market this engine gearbox combo is terrible and very fuel thirsty.
but since all the idiots complain without reason coz rumours CVT no good.
so this is what they get.
cvt versions of jazz and city no longer available in SEA.
would u believe my civic does better range than her city? sweat.gif

QUOTE(Matrix @ Jul 8 2011, 06:55 AM)
er...dun expect Inspira to have very good FC or compare to Jazz...this is after all a 1.8/2.0 engine compare to Jazz 1.5.
When it comes to city drivimg, you can only get 9km/l or so. What's the FC of ur Civic in city drive? But why ur gf complain city high FC?? The only one good thing about City is good FC... You GF rev kaw-kaw is it? If rev kaw-kaw, Inspira will be even worst FC....but you won't have to worry about underpower coz Inspira loads of power. If you drive manual, even better.

I don't think CVT gearbox are fuel-saving...it depends more on the engine and car size and most importantly road conditions. It may helps a little bit, a few percent, but definitely not much.  Even Proton dun dare to claim so much for the new Persona R (Campro + CVT)...only claims improvement of 4%....and this is probably under optimum condition.

IMO, CVT gearbox gives a smooth driving experience, that's all.

Can 'trade in' with proton and top up difference? I thought Proton dun stock 3000 in SC??

Anyway, for low mileage people like me, probably 800 will be fine...by 6 months time only hits 5k...so no problem. Have to change 6 months or 5k...whichever first!
*
i never compare the jazz 1.5 cvt to inspira 2.0/1.8 cvt.
if u read correctly i stated i understand the benefits of cvt from my previous ride.
cvt is great since there is an infinite gear ratio and always in tune with engine speed.
i used to travel up to genting alot when i was working in food service industry.
driving a cvt up the mountain my lil' jazz 1.3 cvt can out run BMW's going up hill icon_rolleyes.gif
plus the range is always high, even when driving hard and fast still can get 400kms + per tank.

QUOTE(ckk125 @ Jul 8 2011, 07:07 AM)
yup, agreed..our cvt may help with FC, but not as much as it does for the smaller cars. the CVT for a 1.5 and 2.0 and 3.5l is fundementally different, that is why when you visit Jatco's website, the usual word that is associated with CVT which is improve FC is not even stated on the CVT for large vehicles.

bro sothy goes to the sc that can trade in.

im not too sure about syntium 3000's availablity in proton or eon, but i mostly do my service in eon. when mine reaches 20k km, will find out if it is possible to get it outside or not..then will hentam a mobil 1 in it.
*
i'm not too sure about 1.8/2.0 cvt in the mitsu.
but the big difference between city/jazz 1.5 cvt compared to the 2.4 cvt in the odyssey is that the 1.5 cvt's don't have a torque converter, the 2.4 cvt has. direct drive without torque converter helps with FC but the rev's have to be kept low if not the cvt kenot handle, which is why jazz/city has max torque at 1500rpms.

zenix,

if u like manual, go for it.
for me i like it and where got other 1.8 and above with MT?
its damn nice to whack and dun worry much bout damaging gearbox, my putra i also did the same only the gear shifter broke tongue.gif after 7 yrs .
its very easy to shift and different frm the older MT g/box
*
exactly thats what i was thinking!

QUOTE(evoHahn @ Jul 8 2011, 09:17 AM)
hi there, i own 1.8 manual inspira -

2. The clutch is soft and you can slot into gear easily. Wayyyy to soft for my liking, i still love my savvy clutch. and another thing, the gear throw is very short plus the handbrake position is not ideal for manual driver.

3. I dont have an idea if its new or old tech. imho its an old tech because 5 speed manual has been in cars for how many years already?

4. Build quality is lil improvement over other Proton models. Dont expect BMW quality though LOL. But inspira is not a defect free car, some owners experience the nyek nyek sound from absorbers, wind noise

5. FC? just click my siggy Usually full tank i can achieve 550~650 km.

and final answer is... GO TEST DRIVE
*
the pariah thing is most 3s dun have manual to test sad.gif
i dun expect bmw quality as long as it is as good as korean is good enough.
i reli sked wira/waja nightmare case build issues.....long time proton owners would know this.

QUOTE(Matrix @ Jul 8 2011, 09:21 AM)
Actually, no such thing as ori oil or what...all engine oil can be used as long as it adhere to the ratings.
*
yes, but the thing is if u want your warranty u gotta follow whats in the manual sweat.gif
which is usually refer to as ori oil.
like honda ori oil is actually from idemitsu but if u bring that brand of oil to SC they say "ini tak ori no warranty" doh.gif

Hmm...ori mitsu side windows don't fit ? How come ?
And Proton mod the brackets ? I hope there's no power window issues...dont want to relive the Waja experience.
