This is a common issue. Thats why we must be careful. By putting quieter tyres, your engine sound will become more pronounced. So although u may have eradicated most of the road noise but what you get in replacement is a louder engine.

So always have due consideration before changing. The PS3 tyres arent cheap and it will set you back more than RM3K and ull still end up with the same sound levels albeit from a different source.

But then again, the PS3 is also for safety not just sound reduction.

This is the reason why u will always be a wannabe renting a property while going around telling lies about owning a Merc C250 CGI. Only a fool like u will not be able to understand simple basic English. whistling.gif

So for retarded losers like you, allow me to explain in simpler terms. What i said in my post earlier was the engine sound becomes more pronounced by using quieter tyres. Dont u understand the difference between becomes louder and becomes more pronounced? That's the reason why u are the least respected forumer on LYN and also in real life. Must be really painful to get thrashed so often on LYN because of your limited brain cells eh. biggrin.gif

The current thread starter also not an owner ma. Btw, you will be an owner soon if you didnt jump ship to Audi smile.gif
i thk CM98 now changing his mind to Mazda CX-5 brows.gif

To me if i want to look for a sedan, yes Optima is my choice.

But, SUV are more suitable for me due to 80% of my ride are at the kampung road & the road condition are bad. So i go for SUV.

It's true. Perhaps the way he worded the whole sentence is not accurate but the engine noise does "sound louder" because the road and tyre noise is no longer masking them. Trust me.

tyre noise and engine noise comes in different sound wave frequency..hence what we experience is the magnification of a certain frequency...
however, overall dBa should drop if one of the source is eliminated or reduced...

each noises comes with different frequency, but the dBa remains audible to our hearing as it is still noisy, unless we are deaf! LOL

Nope everybody else here understood perfectly well what i meant. It was YOu was was desperately trying to cover up your screwup because u didnt realise that if u changed to a quieter tyre the engine noise would become more pronounced. its YOU who needs to try harder kiddo.

Do gimme a buzz when u change the tyres on your imaginary C250 CGI or the pre-reg Polo and lemme know how the engine sounds. Oh sorry i forgot...u need to actually have the car in order to hear the engine. Maybe use up some of that last remaining EPF funds to buy your new tyres (i assume u have some money left after paying off your PTPN loan). LOL!

Well ive missed the WWR number plate and the next target is WXA so ill have to make a decision by early May. But yes the CX5 does look tempting but then again SUV's never did interest me in the past.

Yes the Sportage seems more value for money. But the price tag of RM 159K for the CX5 doesnt look appealing.

Aih.. Blablabla... Just admit ur mistake lah.its ok to make mistakes. Be a man and admit it. Thenppl will respect u more.

Common sense tells u , if tyre noise 10 db and engine noise 10db, and lets say if u remove the tyre noise 10db . Will the engine noise become 12 db? Of course nolah, the noise is the same 10db ,just that our ears hear it more clearly! Not that the engine noise has become louder..silly cybermaster and his opinions. Act like a smartie pants.. doh.gif

And if u said more pronounced , why did u say engine noise louder?? Pls explain smarties pants with properties in prime locations my foot
