143k is crazy for this kia. I know its kitted max,but by the 2nd year u already lost loads of money. And besides, korean cars never drive as well as japs. They might hv all the bells n whistles but when it come to performance, they still suck at it.

And i dont see this car selling well in msia. Use the sonata as a benchmark. Hardly see any of them on the road. Ppl who buy this car either just want to look different or just got conned by the good looks. For that kinda money, its vw golf tsi anytime man, or a honda civic 2.0

Naza hv shot themselves in the foot this time around. 143k for a kia? Come on lah, u koreans are not on par with the japs yet but still price them more exp than a jap? All those specs count for nothing cause any jap maker can include them in their cars but that would mean a price hike.

No matter hw nice a car can look, it still boils down to hw strong ur brand name is, and at the moment, kia is only on par with china brands.

Just saw the optima at the red cube in pj, it still under some renovation. Only 2 optimas were there.
Besides the look of the car, theres really nothing special about the car. The moment i open the door, i can feel its using cheapskate material.door feels hollow. Then i step in, everything looks so cheapo. The door openers looks like the silver finish can come off anytime. And the paddle shifters feel like they made of cheap plastic, flimsy. When u get in the car, u dont get the premium feeling an accord or mazda 6 gives u.

The driver seat electric seat motor is so noisy i bet it couldnt last a year without breaking down.overall, it looks good outside but inside is still typical cheapo korean material all around.

Since its launch I have not seen one on the road yet . After all the prelaunch hype, suddenly I don't see anyone talking about this car anymore.

Obtw, I paid a visit to red cube along fed highway to see what the fuss was all about. Exterior is good looking.but step in and it doesn't have that feel good factor to it unlike when u step in a honda accord.

K5 doors felt thin and hollow. Cheapo plastics were all over. Somehow if I had rm150k money to spend, I definitely 100% will not buy this .

And Korean car designs somehow don't last the test of time. Just look at forte, when just launch looks great. Now about 2years down the road, I see one on the road I wanna puke. Looks so outdated d. Looks like a box on wheels. And when I see a honda city on the road, somehow it looks like it had been just launched a few months back.

sorry pal havent test driven any 508, sat in a non moving one. well no one would let me try one. anyway i know back seat is a little cramp. well if thats the case then this 508 probably a flop here loh, especially every single road in PJ has speed bump. u said 10 yrs old suspension means it sinks totally in and hit the bumps? well if its the case then it is bad.

but optima should at least fair better. or else another flop, back to the drawing boards, camry it shall be.

friend u complain so much, what in your mind is a good looking car? honda City? honda civic? or honda accord. Yucks, no taste, civic 2012, taste like porridge with no salt. ya i know, resale value mah... driving dynamics mah.. i still feel altis is a better buy than civic,.. ya i know, altis where got power..
altis suspension better than civic mah., dual VVti better than inteligent Vtec mah.. haha, what to argue. nothin, so how? just buy the car u like and keep you bad thoughts to yourself we all here know you are jealous of the Forte, no doubt, if you see forte try no to puke in your own car. its very very messy.
at least forte is getting more and more on the road, in just about 2 to 3 years since it was given birth here. i hope the new civic they will increase price more than 10k so that the Koreans would look like better buy. and your honda will always be better resale value. everyone win.

Haih,typical losers way of talking.

Got some info bout the upcoming Toyota Camry 2.0L. 146Hp and 190Nm torque. The new Optima churns out 163Hp and 198Nm torque. The Optima is also 19mm longer with 20mm longer wheelbase compared to the Camry.

Pretty pathetic figures for a new generation Camry. Almost no difference from current model. Aiya!

Btw, just noticed that the Optima and Forte 2.0L have different engines. Thought they were the same. The Forte 2.0L churns out 154Hp and 194Nm torque only but with a lighter body.

Never ever judge a car by its paper specs. K5 might hv better looking specs on paper but does it perform well in real life? I doubt so

i'm very much interested with the new K5 as i'm looking for my 2nd car. few options including K5. went to KIA showroom in glenmarie shah alam today to see it.

was amazed by the size of the boot! its huge!
then there was it. nothing else impressed me.
the built can be say slightly lower than japs, but with 5 yr warranty i dont think u need to worry much.
but the dashboard / fascia plastic is not up to my expectation.
the door are not as solid as japs, IMHO, no nice 'tummbb' sound and felt light
the leather inside was not impressive, stitching and quality
somehow i dont see myself driving this car in the future so i ended up my visit in only 15 mins
by the way, the sales person said they are doing a customer day next weekend, so u can test drive car, including K5.
*
Yes bro, totally agree with u.. I cant understand how people can say the k5 door is solid when my vw polo door is so much more heavier than the k5 door. K5 door feels cheapo and light..Its even lighter than my honda city too.. If u dont believe, i welcome u all to come and close my city n polo doors..then u will know whats solid..

Anyway, not here to bash or what, buy what u like and if u think k5 is a great car , pls fill the roads with them ok thumbup.gif

So good meh? I was just setting E250 as my mid term goal. Any way, I've just parked my car beside a camry and accord yesterday and spent some time looking at them. ail else ignored, K5's design is at least two generations ahead of the other two. No offence.
*
Yeah only the design is 2 generations ahead of the other two, but ur kia engine is 2 generations behind the other two

Yes but i guess ure paying for the brand and also the technology. But the K5 beats the Audi with its exterior design. The K5 is a head turner while the Audi will be just another common site on the road with not much to differentiate between the various models except for the DRL's.

The A4 will cost approx RM 2300 per month for 9 yrs while the Optima will cost RM 1500 for 7 yrs. Audi comes with 2 years unlimited mileage warranty and 15,000km (every 9 months with my driving distance) servicing intervals.
*
Go drive an audi then u will know why u r paying so much difference compared to a kia...

Today went to test drive k5...

Not much power. No oomp...

The exterior is too stylish....will easily outdate...
Interior not so comfort....as well

I think i cant see any reason for me to buy this car in future.
*
Totally agree with u bro.People say so many people praise this car,but in real live driving, its sucks.Who are these people who praise this car? PEople who are paid by Kia and Hyundai ?

Same goes to elantra. Before launch, hype up kaokao, win duno what lousy north american best car award lah,and some other crappy award. But when come to malaysia and you actually test drive it,it is so underpowered.Even the 1.8 felt like crap. Lets not talk bout price lah, even if the elantra 1.8 was priced at 99k, i cant seem to find any reason why I should buy it.The same goes for this Optima.

They dont understand that all these awards are actually paid for by Hyundai and Kia.Thats why you see all these korean brands suddenly winning so many crappy awards. Its all part of their marketing strategy.

Just look at the Sportage,it looks so nice ,but how often u see them on the road? HARDLY! Good design will win you a few fans overnight but wont last long.Great driving charecteristics and a design that will last a long time will win you loyalists.

So now the Optima is value for money?? After all that crap talk about the Optima you suddenly change and now say its value for money? Your own shit must taste really bitter when swallowed eh?

And no i dont assume i know everything about cars. If i did i wont be on LYN asking questions and sharing my experiences. Again more of your childish assumptions. I know what i know and what i know i share immediately. If i dont know something, ill ask questions. Never ashamed to say i dont know. There are no winners. Just losers like you who cant hold a candle to the more senior ppl in LYN. At least we speak with facts while ure just full of hot air. Im still waiting for your facts regarding why the Theta II engine is worse than the Camry or other similar Jap models. So far uve completely ignored this dare as with all previous dares. A typical trait of someone who blows hot air.

Btw, here's one of the many 'hot air' threads started by this bum. Have fun reading it and laughing! Perfect way to end a typical working day:

Yeah, i am not that free unlike cybermaster who test drives a car 8 times and feels proud doing it. I tell this to my grandfather, even he is gonna laugh all day long at this fella. Normally ppl who boast about multimillion properties and test drives car 8 times , most of the time are just small flys . Nothing like what they describe themselves.

And even if u really did have a few puny properties in so called prime locations, i couldnt care less. And lastly, cybermaster stop talking like u know every single detail cuz nobody cares.

Correction: YOU can't win arguing with me cuz i argue with FACTS while u argue with HOT AIR.

and nah..sorry to disappoint you..i dont have any multi million properties..just a few hundred k's. But unlike your Merc C250 fantasy, mine is real. Are u still renting at Casa Kiara 2 with your C250? I suppose the pre-regis Polo u bought last year was just for your maid eh?  biggrin.gif

Hahahaha,i can win anytime. Just that i dont wanna waste my time arguing with u here. Its not like u get paid if u win here.

This is a common issue. Thats why we must be careful. By putting quieter tyres, your engine sound will become more pronounced. So although u may have eradicated most of the road noise but what you get in replacement is a louder engine.

So always have due consideration before changing. The PS3 tyres arent cheap and it will set you back more than RM3K and ull still end up with the same sound levels albeit from a different source.

But then again, the PS3 is also for safety not just sound reduction.

This is the reason why u will always be a wannabe renting a property while going around telling lies about owning a Merc C250 CGI. Only a fool like u will not be able to understand simple basic English.  whistling.gif

So for retarded losers like you, allow me to explain in simpler terms. What i said in my post earlier was the engine sound becomes more pronounced by using quieter tyres. Dont u understand the difference between becomes louder and becomes more pronounced? That's the reason why u are the least respected forumer on LYN and also in real life. Must be really painful to get thrashed so often on LYN because of your limited brain cells eh.  biggrin.gif
*
Hahaha..funny fella.. Go back and read what u said lah noob. U said sound becomes more pronounced and the engine noise becomes louder? Need me to quote it for u ah? doh.gif sometimes, want to cover line oso pls cover properly lah

Nope everybody else here understood perfectly well what i meant. It was YOu was was desperately trying to cover up your screwup because u didnt realise that if u changed to a quieter tyre the engine noise would become more pronounced. its YOU who needs to try harder kiddo.

Do gimme a buzz when u change the tyres on your imaginary C250 CGI or the pre-reg Polo and lemme know how the engine sounds. Oh sorry i forgot...u need to actually have the car in order to hear the engine. Maybe use up some of that last remaining EPF funds to buy your new tyres (i assume u have some money left after paying off your PTPN loan).  LOL!
*
Aih.. Blablabla... Just admit ur mistake lah.its ok to make mistakes. Be a man and admit it. Thenppl will respect u more.

Common sense tells u , if tyre noise 10 db and engine noise 10db, and lets say if u remove the tyre noise 10db . Will the engine noise become 12 db? Of course nolah, the noise is the same 10db ,just that our ears hear it more clearly! Not that the engine noise has become louder..silly cybermaster and his opinions. Act like a smartie pants.. doh.gif

And if u said more pronounced , why did u say engine noise louder?? Pls explain smarties pants with properties in prime locations my foot
