It's stated to be 799 Australian Dollars, releasing in Aust in October. That's around RM2,500 but it didnt say whether it's the 16GB or 64 GB

If Nokia selling N9 for RM2.5K (no matter it's 16/64GB) it's better for Elop to take back all the N9 & play jenga with it.
Even Samsung SGS II which has the better hardware & higher cost selling for RM1.9K-RM2.1K

Dont think that would be the price for the 16GB, it's the pre order price in Aust, after taxes. Hardware, I wouldnt say Samsung is better, as in physical hardware. Dont think Samsung S2 or Iphone4 came with 64GB on board.

Eerr...
What do you mean by Samsung don't have better physical hardware?
Comparing Nokia & Samsung's highest end device,SGS II beat the crap out N9 in hardware section. Both using plastic case also(polycarbonate is still a plastic).
64GB NAND memory could be expensive but I doubt it'll make cost of N9 that much expensive.iPod Touch 4 have 64GB variant & the price of it still ok (for Apple's standard)

N9 have 64GB memory but that's it.The memory cannot be expanded because the lack of microSD slot.
Some Android devices have 16/32GB build in memory & supports sup to 32GB microSD memory.
More or less same as 64GB memory like N9.

Frankly speaking Elop have screwed MeeGo & N9 kaw kaw.I don't see much point on the reason N9 should even be released if Nokia don't intent to build on MeeGo success so far.

P/S:I'm not Samsung's fanboy sweat.gif

Samsung Galaxy II without doubt has superior specs than Nokia N9, and consumers would definitely get SG2 instead of N9 (non-fan-boy case)..
so I agree POV of super_evil_alien lol ._.

By the way, it seems Celcom, Digi and Maxis will carry Nokia N9..

Yeah I know both plastic, Samsung S2 feel like cheap plastic(no offence if you have one)
Because Nokia can last, Samsung no, I want something that can tahan, not see2, then less than 2 years...spoil. I dont have good experience with all Samsung electronic products, including phone. If like that, better ask Panasonic come out with handphone then I buy, hahaha laugh.gif tongue.gif

AIOne89, I will not, durability issues. Same goes for HTC, cos it's Taiwanese brand, cannot tahan.

I have owned Nokia phones for 20 years, never less than 5 years each set. I must be lucky then laugh.gif . My friend's E71, should be 3 years now, still going on strong. SE is another one that's ok on durability.

@eaglehelang,

I understand your point, I'm a consumer that looking for durable quality phone too, and I'm a Nokia big fan tongue.gif

But we couldn't despite the fact that the current consumers' trend is chasing after specs and android though, so if Nokia N9 is going to be priced over than SG2.. for sure SG2 would comes into their mind 1st, no? O.o
Especially the uncertainties of future Meego development and discouraging supportive role from Elop already more than enough to keep potential sales away ._.

Let's talk other brands vs Nokia mobile phone reliability

I do agree that in the past during the dumbphone era Nokia's phones certainty had the edge over the other brand phones in term of reliability.1 of the best example is Nokia 3310.You can throw the phone to the ground, use it under abusive condition & in most of case it'll still work.
However we're past the dumbphone era.Comparing different manufacturers flagship device I'll say most of the company except Apple have more or less same reliably record.Nokia's N97,N8 and few other phones did suffer from reliability issues.
Smartphones nowdays are more or less like computers. After certain time CPU will wear out (faster when OC-ed),Li-On battery discharge fast, dead pixels etc2.All phones will have this issues.
Most of the manufacturers do have a strict QC nowdays which produce high quality & durable devices. But it remains a fact there are "variable" during the manufacturing & some device from same product family might have slightly lower quality. But the ratio of good & defective product are usually very large.

IMHO Apple has the best reliably record for now.

As long time custom PC user I believe the only way to bypass this defective issue is by introducing customizable smartphones.Means users can swap/upgrade CPU/RAM/NAN Memory etc2 if any of the part is defective.
Kinda interesting idea isn't it? Users can probably use a single phone for several years if this implemented. The cost is definitely lower compared to buying new phone every now & then.

Customizable, possible at a price but user changeable/replaceable = no.

Each slots and sockets increases the size and introduces added impedence and stray capacitance. Phones today are going 1GHz and above, high frequency components won't work if they are removable.
