Most probably this phone won't come with HDMI out.Due to hardware limitation or whatsoever.
But things might change in final product.

It might change on next revision aka next cycle.. laugh.gif

I salute Stefan Elop for having balls of steel to kill Symbian (although very slowly). But he pissed quite a lot people when he removed MeeGo from Nokia plan.
If everything went according to Elop's WP7 plan there won't be any MeeGo based product from Nokia ever again.

If you to see N9-01,N10 or whatever N from Nokia, you better hope that Nokia's WP7 sucks.

N9 Gsmarena
We need a more powerful Graphics Chip like seriously. SGX530 is so weak. doh.gif

GSMArena's technical detail is not always accurate. It's better to look @ official Nokia technical sheet.
From the official technical detail sheet I don't see HDMI support.

1024MB RAM? Nice nice...

Yup,kinda surprised me too.

QUOTE(pikacu @ Jun 23 2011, 11:12 AM)
No pricing revealed right?
*
According to Nokia's EVP it might be sold around RM2K.

Because WP7 suck & with Android Nokia can't use some of their value added service.

You want Nokia Android phone then go buy N900 & install ANdroid. It's approved by Google as Android device now.

QUOTE(hengguowei @ Jun 23 2011, 11:27 AM)
I mean dropping Symbian is an understandable decision but Meego has so much potential but he did the unthinkable.
On the bright side, he may not be that much of a trojan after all and moving to WP7 is just a move to buy more time and cut down losses to adopt slowly into Meego.

Gsmarena has lots of wrong data. I would still hope that they have HDMI. Nobody expects Nokia to not save on hardware and give us 1GB RAM. biggrin.gif

2k for 64gb version?
If that's the case, not bad but might still be hard to gain extreme sales because SGS2 is only 2099 at launch with far better hardware.
*
Engadget raised a really good point.
As end users we don't know how much progress Nokia made with it's MeeGo device. Some of us judged it's progress by looking at MeeGo progress which made good progress with hardware stacks but the UI need further polishing.
But Elop as CEO & every access to any Nokia device & he should have seen this device's potential.Quite a lot of American users like the UI but the uncertainty of the OS making them think twice to buy this product.
If fund is the big issue Elop have asked Intel to inject some fund into MeeGo.

Agreed on the price issue.Reducing the price slightly could have sell the device in larger quantity. Then again was there only 92 000 unit of N9 made as rumored?

I'm still trying to get my hand on the N950.If I can get it I'll abort my plan to get a qwerty android device.

Third party plugin should be able to play rmvb in 720p

At least it got good NFC support.

TARAK...

From my time with N900 I don't use microSD much.Aside from installing Android & MeeGo usually it remain free.
IMHO if your memory is big you won't need microSD.

Well if the low class CPU run the OS & games smoothly then it's not a major issue isn't it?
We need to see more Alien Dalvik games demo to judge the phone performance.

Speak objectively & not like hardcore fanboy.

RMVB play support will come. With out without Nokia's support.
There is an ongoing project to run 720p videos with Maemo 5 but the DSP addition in kernel has some issues.Audio & video sometimes don't synch. But eventually I think it can be done.
Same thing could be done with N9.Since it has the better hardware & TI SOC I expect some TMO members to get this project going once N9 is launched in market.
There are plenty of things that could be done regarding audio/video playing IF Nokia don't make MeeGo Harmattan media player as closed soured like Maemo 5's 1.
Currently the TMO team is in process of copying & replacing Maemo 5's player with open sourced 1.

Hardware limitation.
In theory 720p is the highest resolution which is possible to run in N900

How to run? I don't have confidence that it can run. Cause even running 480p video also will freeze occasionally.

For now you need to merge the necessary files with kernel power yourself to test it.
There's issue here & there & it's not been helped with disagreement between pali(kernel power maintainer) & freemangordon (DSP patcher).

do u see the conflict?  one side say no need high end Hardware..  (somebody even say we donno what is hardware... coz N8 got aluminium casing .. that is what u call hardware!!!)  doh.gif

the other end.. need decent hardware...

I find it is pretty lame to defend in this technology advancing world that is still fine to use 2 generation behind hardware and still say OK...
*
Everyone want high spec hardware.Heck even I want quad core processor & 2GB RAM to run with this OS.
But with the nature of this OS which always used as experiment by Nokia, potential buyers need to accept the dated hardware.
So only hope they have is to expect the OS to run the application without hitch with these hardware.
Slightly lower price could also help sell this device.

But for WP7 device Nokia need to have the very best of hardwares.Any rubbish like ARM11 680MHz then Eldar will have a field day on this.

If Nokia start selling this I'll order immediately.
Screw beta class OS,no software support & no warranty whatsoever(I've experienced all this with my N900 & I'm still using it)
Excellent physical keyboard & interesting OS is enough to temp me.

The Android Nexus devices can do the same thing also right?
In fact I think almost all developers device in each platform should be able to do this.

this is my personal opinion...

it is a pretty bad move to spend that kind of money on a N8...

+1

If you're buying the phone just because of the camera then it's not worth it.
That money could be well be spend on proper camera.

laugh.gif Good idea.In case Elop got fired at least there will be something to remember Elop's tenure as CEO.

Nah...Nothing will help MeeGo in Nokia because Elop is hell bend on killing MeeGo.
Just look forward for Nokia's WP7.

Elop said that some of innovation in N9 will be used in Nokia's WP7 device.I assume it'll be phone design only because if I remember correctly during the February 9th presentation he mentioned that Nokia won't modify the WP7 UI's even though they legally can.

lets hope it will be dual-boot = wp7 & meego biggrin.gif
*
MeeGo supports uboot (kinda like GRUB) so it is possible to use 2 OS but I'm very Elop won't agree to that.
Microsoft won't agree to that either.
Bill Gates calls open source platform as pest.

@Andy214
N9 don't share much of N900 trait but at least be happy it inherited excellent browser.
Thank god Nokia didn't bring any Symbian type webkit browser.
