QUOTE(cute_boboi @ Mar 2 2012, 03:24 PM) Depending on the insurer, like Prudential, the annual statement has breakdown on Life insurance and Medical insurance. i think a lot don't read what i'm asking or don't get what i'm saying so i'll say it again - I have the annual statement with the breakdown on both life insurance and medical insurance. My initial question was: I have bought personal insurance AND MLTA housing insurance. Both have separate statements stating the amount of life insurance and medical insurance. Now - my question is simple - is it alright to add BOTH The medical insurance (for personal insurance PLUS housing MLTA insurance FOR MEDICAL)? My agent told me this should be fine, but I'm having doubts which is why I asked. Therefore, under that 6k portion, it is for : EPF + Life Insurance = maximum 6k totaled up. Medical insurance = maximum 3k |

Not LYN.Otherwise, if unsure (in doubt), do NOT put it in. |

They limit the amount not the number of insurance. But MLTA housing insurance inside got medical insurance coverage? This I am not sure already, first time heard it. |

QUOTE(flodder @ Mar 2 2012, 04:27 PM) Medical insurance is not medical expenses.Medical insurance is the insurance you pay to buy like hospitalization, surgery, Op Theatre, etc. Medical expenses therefore are paid by the insurer, not you. However, if you need to top up the surgery, etc. that is not consider as "Medical Insurance" QUOTE(xtjs @ Mar 2 2012, 05:27 PM) another headache, income tax hotline says can only claim spouse medical insurance if do taksiran bersama Well, LHDN hotline already confirm. Who is the better authority on this ?can anyone confirm? Otherwise, try email them as suggested. At least you have black and white in case later LHDN audit you for wrong submission, provided LHDN reply email to you and say can. |

Hi all sifus here, I have one problem. I was an employee until July 2011. In mid August, I started my own company( sole properieter ) . I already have a tax file with LHDN which i submited last time. Now with business, I need to submin form B. I have these questions:
1) Do i need to submit both borang BE and borang B to declare tax for the year 2011 ? 2) I downloaded the form B and I found it so complicated to fill in .. well am a graduate but can't really understand what they want.. anyone can guide to fill in form B? 3) My business is slow and no profit. But I gave myself salary. Sometimes I give more, sometimes I give less, but there is no proof, just some records, cause its all my money only what. but when it comes to tax, is it better to give higher salary or lower to ownself ? Added on March 2, 2012, 10:11 pm QUOTE(David83 @ Mar 2 2012, 06:22 PM) Of course not! Do you understand the word life insurance or insurance nyawa? You need a valid policy for it. But i thought MRTA also is life insurance what ? when they send me the statement that they deducted money from my flexi loan for MRTA, they stated there, Life assured : my name . so why is that not considered life insurance ?This post has been edited by fanfankwok: Mar 2 2012, 10:11 PM |

Ya its a bit complicated as you need to prepare the Profit and Loss a/c as well. So just get your co P&L ready and just fill in the blanks.1) Do i need to submit both borang BE and borang B to declare tax for the year 2011 ? 2) I downloaded the form B and I found it so complicated to fill in .. well am a graduate but can't really understand what they want.. anyone can guide to fill in form B? 3) My business is slow and no profit. IRB will change your income tax number from SGXXXXXXXXXXXX to OGXXXXXXXXXXX later by an official letter. Anyway still have ample time to do as due in June |
