one question - i have both life insurance which includes medical and i also bought MLTA which has both life and medical included in it for housing - both are under prudential. I asked my agent, he told me that I can add in the figures mentioned under medical for both the personal insurance (for medical) + the MLTA insurance (for medical) and fill that under the insurans pendidikan dan perubatan column in the efiling - is what he said correct? I can just add the two figures up? Or does govt only allow it to be for personal insurance medical only?

Prudential should send you a statement specifically for Tax purposes.
Use only figures in the Prudential Tax statement.
If you did not receive it, you can call Prudential to resend/fax to you.
*
yes i got the figures but my question is - does the govt allow me to put in both medical figures for personal and the other is for housing and lump it together under the insurans pendidikan dan perubatan column?

He was wrong.

You can be penalised for filling wrongly and get a penalty when audit time.
*
exactly that's why i'm asking. i guess i better just fill up for my personal insurance one then, since my housing "medical insurance" is not too significant. I can probably just ignore that. Thanks guys.

There is a max of RM6k(if not mistaken) for insurance together with your EPF contribution that you are allowed
*
erm that one is life insurance..what i'm referring to is the 3k max for MEDICAL insurance.

Depending on the insurer, like Prudential, the annual statement has breakdown on Life insurance and Medical insurance.

Therefore, under that 6k portion, it is for :
EPF + Life Insurance = maximum 6k totaled up.

Medical insurance = maximum 3k
*
i think a lot don't read what i'm asking or don't get what i'm saying so i'll say it again - I have the annual statement with the breakdown on both life insurance and medical insurance. My initial question was: I have bought personal insurance AND MLTA housing insurance. Both have separate statements stating the amount of life insurance and medical insurance. Now - my question is simple - is it alright to add BOTH The medical insurance (for personal insurance PLUS housing MLTA insurance FOR MEDICAL)? My agent told me this should be fine, but I'm having doubts which is why I asked.

As answered above by someone else, if you are unsure, go ask LHDN. Not LYN.
Otherwise, if unsure (in doubt), do NOT put it in.
*
understood. I'm asking to see if anyone knew to save my time talking to LHDN. Will do. Thanks.

You can add 2 insurance together, there is no clause said one cannot. They limit the amount not the number of insurance.

But MLTA housing insurance inside got medical insurance coverage?
This I am not sure already, first time heard it.
*
my MLTA covered by prudential apparently has it..anyway i'll probably check with LHDN or just omit that part from the housing insurance and just use my personal medical insurance figure instead

Faedah pinjaman perumahan (FYI I qualify so don't worry about that)

My house is under both my name and my wife's name and my interest is approx 8k for 2011 - should this be split equally 50-50 or can this be fully allocated to either myself or my wife for the pelepasan? does anyone know?

CyberKewl, you can split it by %, make sure you retain that document that mentioned the interest you paid in case it's being asked.
*
Ok, so that means can split 50% but also can fully allocate to either person right just as long as has the document for proof?
