yes it worked with xbmc but Frodo Tegra version...the seller provide me the apk... but now i am looking for kodi latest version and it doesn't work..maybe my unit is not compatible..

thanks for advice

Q5 1st generation is none neon compatible, it does not meet the Kodi minimum requirement. Therefore you could only run XBMC none neon version in Q5 1st generation. Q5 II and later has no problem with Kodi 14.x

Below link included basic Android hardware requirement :

Hi to All himedia user,

May I know can himedia Q5 read Sata HDD with 2 partition? Anyone experienced this before? Currently only manage to detect 1 partition only. Is it the limit of this player or all android device? If it the case, then I need to merge my HDD partition. If not, maybe someone can show me the way.

I've got a HD910a which worked fine until today and it's now behaving weird.

At first, it had a problem of being unable to load the screen where you can navigate the file manager and other options. This happened with and without a drive used. What I did next was try to manually reset it. I unplugged the power, took a pin and stuck it into the reset. The player now reaches the screen to navigate, but when I play a video file it becomes a black screen in the less than 3 seconds.

What's the solution to resolve this described issue? Thanks.

Hi All. Need some technical advice/assistance. I recently got myself a Himedia Q16 about 2 months ago. So far I am quite happy with it. Firmware build number is HMD-1.0.7 2015-01-17.10012. Running Kodi Helix v14. I am thinking of connecting a USB webcam to the android box so that I can do video calls using skype on it. Did some research online to see if there are any resources about connecting a USB webcam to an android box but unfortunately not much or very little. The only key thing is that the android box must be able to support UVC devices i.e. it must have drivers for the USB webcam in order for it to work. I am considering a Logitech USB webcam (specifically the C920 model). However the specs for this model (as well as all other Logitech webcam models) states that it only supports Windows. So my question is, has anyone successfully connected a USB webcam to their android boxes and successfully performed a video call on it using skype? If yes, what brand and model of USB webcam are you using? Thanks in advance.

It cannot work on Android box. It works with Android phone.

Hmmm.... Works as expected on my tablet. How about editing the build.prop temporarily on an android box to match a nexus device? Changing the android version, model and product brand?

i tried tvapp.so 1.1.2 and 1.1.3 on android 4.2 and 4.4.

You are mad. Why not just get unifi or something with unlimited data. Any reason for avoiding TM? Blacklisted maybe ? biggrin.gif

I am using Wireless Hotspot Service for only RM30/- p.m at 3mbps speed on PC and I can watch movies and TV series all day using Kodi. For sports streaming , it's sometimes smooth (during daytime) but not good during peak hrs at night.

For your Himedia it shouldn't be too expensive to get 5Mbps unlimited data for around RM150/-

Could say hang, no picture and audio. But player's fan is still running.

Thought flashing the firmware would help. So I got the 1.0.6.3 and flash the player. The new issue is that sometimes when playing a file, message showing "IO error stop playback" displays. When I try to play the file again, after awhile the same message shows again. What's annoying is this message doesn't show up in a consistent period. Sometimes I can get through a video without it and sometimes it'll just show.

I don't believe it's my media drive because I don't experience such an error on another player with a different brand. hmm.gif

Now I'm just thinking if these players are meant to die after 2 years..

Oh my!... RM158 per mth for just 13GB? I really don't envy you and here I thought, Unifi users had it bad, @least we get unlimited quotas..

The very first time it hang, is out of the blue ? You sure you didn't change anything or install anything or update the firmware etc. ?

Are you also saying now after flashing to the 1.0.6.3 fw, it's different problem now? Can play video but sometimes randomly have the IO error?

1) Nope. Didn't install anything before all this happened. Had been working without problems.

2) Yup. After flashing, it's a different problem now - random IO error.

Since it's different problem, but at least can play video, so could be FW problem.

I suggest you force flash back to the original FW and try again. Those newer Himedia FW have been known to give the I/O error for your model.
