Hi all, I'm not sure if Ah_Wah has got it sorted out, but I read thru the thread and couldn't find any more answer to Ah_Wah's query.

I have the same problem.

i scrolled to the right, just 3 icons, Market icon is missing.

I brought it back to seller, he hooked my Himedia up and the Market icon is there!!


I am using TIME internet, staying in a condo. I'm not sure if this is the problem

I suspect it could be some network settings... i'm not familiar with that

any Sifu here can please help?

May I know how to uninstal HiTV and imgoTV from Himedia tv box? I can't view these 2 apps from the Uninstall app.

these two are linked with the firmware as they are kind of "proprietory" to manufacturer - the apks will not work on other devices.

u need not worry. if they r not listed in settings/apps, they r just residing dormant within the allocated memory.

other that just junking the thumbnail at launcher, no need to do anything else.

Hi. I need help getting 1.09 for Q16 quad core. managed to locate the baidu site but stuck trying to download...I banana with Chinese...seems like what got downloaded is a baidu program. anyone can share their 1.09? thanks.

1.0.9 is fine. main fix is it is now good for tvapp.so; others fixes are minor.

public sites is not the best way to get firmware - chance of malware, plus possibility of "china" version - u may run into playstore and youtube non-access.

the file is a few hundred mb. preferred way is to get from yr seller.

I've got a HIMEDIA Q3 Quad core with the 1.0.7 firmware. I've downloaded the 1.0.9 firmware called update.zip. I've copied it on a USB key And choosen local upgrade : It tells me " No Upgrade File". Have I done something wrong or it's not the way to upgrade ?

check:

.. the 1.0.9 is the correct version for yr model
.. check the size (mb) is completely downloaded, not partial
.. the zip file must not be unzipped, must be placed at the root level of the usb drive, not inside any folder

with above, local upgrade should detect it.

one small possibility, u pointed to the wrong drive...?

Hello and thank you for your help. The update file was completly downloaded. I've chosen the right drive, but the box doesn't recognised the "update" file. If i try to upgrade online it says : "great you have the latest box" but it's still the 1.0.7 firmware. The Q3 is driven me mad, I've had the 600A for years, no problem. I've tried to put the "update" on different usb stick, still impossible to upgrade the firmware. Don't know what to do!!!!!!!!.

The latest and also the old one that I backup works for me. Let me reconfirm that tonight.
