I bought something online with OCBC 365 credit card for 100€ and the final amount was RM490.20 but the rate on the posting date was RM485.35. So there's about 1% of charge.

as far i know all card will have 1% additional which charge by visa / master , then bank will charge another "mark up" fees , so if the rate only 1% additional then i think means no more mark up as i guess
*
if in this case , which mean bigpay still better?
or since having 1% charge and cash back , both will have the same cost ?

the charges from Visa/Master apply to BigPay as well, BigPay only dont charge u "mark up" fees where many bank will charge 1 - 2% which now OCBC bank 365 card offer the same like BigPay that "no mark up" fees

I have the following:
Mbb Amex / visa platinum
Mbb Amex reserve
Mbb visa infinite
Uob yolo visa
SCB visa
Alliance / OCBC titanium master
Big pay

Reading thru the posts here, looks like bigpay is best (1% + best rate)?
Second is my Mbb Amex premier up to rm1000 spending on weekends for rm50 cash-back + treat points to offset 2.5%+rates ?
Third is Amex reserve for treat points conversion offset 2.5% +rates?

Does anyone here have any recent transaction to share whether Maybank really reduced their foreign currency fee from 2.25% to 2%?

Thanks.

Amount in Foreign Currency : USD 300
Amount in MYR charged by MBB : MYR 1265.24

Bank fee (Calculated via https://www.mastercard.us/en-us/personal/ge...t-currency.html ) = 2%

anyone heard of Flywire? Wonder it will have any cross border transaction fee even the payment currency is in MYR. Also, can the payment treated as Online transaction?

One card I like to use for overseas transaction is Public Bank Visa Infinite Credit Card, since it gives 2% cashback for overseas retail purchases (cap at RM80 per month).

PBB does charge 1.25% fee above the Visa rate, but with the 2% cashback the net rate is actually below the Visa rate and even a bit below XE rate.

So this card is quite good for overseas spending up to equivalent RM4k per month.

But I'm still looking for another card to cover overseas spend above 4k. Bigpay is looking quite attractive for this. Used to be that Bigpay charged 0% fees but I saw on another thread some users said lately they have a small fee like 0.5%. Any BP users can confirm?

RHB Visa Signature and World MasterCard also gives 2% (with conditions).
Some debit cards don't charge extra above Visa rate.
Wise Prepaid Visa and Merchantrade Visa Prepaid are good for some users as you can buy the currency in advance when cheap (hedge the currency and no extra charge when swipe the card).

OCBC Titanium card tnc said the oversea currency conversion charge admin fee by the bank is not applicable. Yet I found they charge 1.25% admin fee.
Anyone faced the same?

Both work best at different scenario.

If you want to capitalise at a particular time where exchange rate is low, you should use Wise to exchange RM to your preferred currency first, and keep them in your virtual wallet.

BigPay works based on real time currency rate. You will be charged based on the rate on your transaction date.

Hi. Bigpay now no longer offer Mastercard.
Before this, if not mistaken, I think mastercard oversea spending is 0% charges.
Now for Visa card, there seems to be a charges, but I am not sure how much.
Maybe between 0.3% - 0.6%.
As Visa follows posted date, but Bigpay does not show any information on posted date.
Difficult to track isn't? Anyone knows the rate?

Do you have OCBC debit MasterCard ? It claims to have 0% foreign transaction fee too.

Hong Leong I’m MasterCard is another credit card that claims to have 0% foreign transaction fee. I had used it in THB but the final amount was far higher than MasterCard’s rate on posting date.

I’m MasterCard actually has a 1% fee, not sure what it is, maybe admin fee.
