Pitbull I faced similar issues and gets frequent pm on flashing overcome when your instructions are so clear. I always refer them back to your guide. Sometimes dont understand why can't they just read it . My advise is read it, read it again and again before attempting to flash.
Stuffs that I postup in page 1 and also in my other officialthreads , many users never bother to read and ask same questions . My PM is neverending answering question and issues which are posted on page 1. Also many users just refused or don't know how to use SEARCH TOPIC bottom of page.

I totally understand your position Uncle Benny. You're the sifu here mah, and people look up to you. There's also a second reason, people like to be spoonfed. Third reason, despite all of that, they still gets screwed by themselves by not listening.

I give you an example, just happened today, you've given a certain person an advice, and it's based on your experience, to basically "restock" with roto-JME, but that person reads that JMI is newer and decided to flash that instead and got himself into a bootloop. Here's the reason why that happens. That JME advice works and the JMI does not, why? The JMI build doesn't include the necessary movinand.mst, that helps wipes system and gets it up running. In the end, what did he do? Download stock from Samfirmware, which we all know is just basically stock. Not the best move, but luckily it didn't brick totally.

Basically the Overcome Stock-safe packages, were based on my experience listening to you ask people to use the roto-JME package. It's a golden advice, we chose to make it an complete package, with all the tools, drivers, pit files all inside one Zip file. But what do people? They choose to DIY lah, listen to other dumb advice la. When end up, waste time only... have to trouble-shoot la, download another 200mb+ file la. Panic la.

Sigh... dunno lah. What else can we do yeah?

But keep your spirits up Uncle Benny, you're a good guy who's helped so many people, myself included!

thepitbull and benny888, both very patient fellas smile.gif You guys really bring heart and soul to the thread!

I for one am no guru, but I do read posts and guides very carefully before doing stuff to my gadgets (hence low post count ha ha). Unfortunately, I am also am impatient guy hence I don't normally bend over so much to help those who do not want to help themselves with a little bit of reading and are hell-bent on screwing themselves over.

Guys if anyone interested in changing the battery to percentage circle like in OC froyo. i have uploaded the framework and necessary files for "hermez wipe version" to UOT kitchen to create the cwm flashable file.

just download file from the pickup files

http://uot.dakra.lt/pickup/

*the file name is "UOT-06-15-13-56-1.zip" its available for 12 hours in there site i think.

*just put the file in internal sd -> go to recovery and install from sdcard->reboot.

p.s: create a nandroid backup in case things go wrong

Ty UOT kitchen.

Pittbull 1 inquiry; how can i get the setting wizard to popup again like in the default state, without flashing the the hermez wipe again.

because in my previous post i mentioned that after doing the factory reset or wipe. the setting wizard doesn't pop up again. i am just interested in wiping everything like in default state.

thx again for the hard work.

It's a context triggered event. However, none of the devs that I'm talking to here, know which particular "events" trigger it. All they know it only appears on first boot event.

If the setup wizard is really what you're after, may I ask what's the point? Everything's configurable in settings anyway. It basically asks Default Locale (language) Wifi settings, Gmail if you have one (Hint for multiple gmail account holders: the first gmail account you set up is your default gmail account on the tab) and whether you Google allow backup of your data/apps (I usually say no! Perf and data hog!), that's it... so, why the fascination with that?

You're contradicting yourself: ...without flashing the the hermez[I](??) wipe again. then ... i am just interested in wiping everything like in default state.

Seriously, if you want a clean wipe, restock using Stock-safe (that's your choice, Froyo stock safe for OC1.4x/1.6x, GB stock safe V3 for Overcome 2.0 and above, it doesn't matter really to me...) is your best best. I won't recommend any other way (especially if you're going to wipe anyway). Since to be honest, the worst part or time-consuming part about all of this, about this is the back-up of data/restore of it anyway, which you'll do with a wipe anyway.

If you want really, really default, Get the latest stock DX 2.3.3 version from samfirmware, but then I won't follow that last piece myself...

It's an important milestone, one I'm proud to see, buuuut it's an alpha build. I've tried it for a few hours yesterday. It's good to try, if you want a taste of HC on your tab. But it's no daily driver. 3G/Phone/Telephony Messaging, all not there yet.

Just in case you think we're biased, here's the deal: AB86's working with SSSerpentine to dev some simple Froyo kernels for them, and I've been asked to help them write their guides. So we do know each other quite well, and are friendly with each other.

Don't get me wrong, we're assisting them in some small way, but we're not in anyway working on Honeycomb.

The way i did wast to un tick snyc from others such as fb, twitter, yahoo, and even the second google account....I only sync with one google account and it solved my problems of duplicating contacts....

You can do it via Settings --> Account and Sync --> untick which ever contact you dont want to appear in you phonebook...

This is my personal assessment about Honeycomb, having used it on my Acer Iconia. I'd say HC is still in its infancy stage and lots need to be done. Other than a revamp UI which looks slicker and slightly bit more user friendly, nothing else impress me. Still love old Froyo anytime.

So guys even the TAB cannot run HC - you will not miss anything. One of the biggest gripe on present HC is market issues - seems to be solved but intermittently access to apps is still limited - dunno why - everyone is blaming Google and Google has acknowledge they are working on it. I guess this is causing all the different results I see every few days.

And HC is said to need dual core chips to work better and have better optimization of apps - so I cannot imagine how the Tab will perform if HC is on it. Having HC on the Tab will probably make you more frustrated. Putting in a turbo charger to an Accord 2.4 will never match a similar spec BMW 523 - theoretically yes but practically the driving experience will be way below expectations
