Sorry, not familiar with rotohammer. Normally when I have weird errors or problems, I will boot to CWM and wipe cache and dalvik cache and also fix permissions. If still same, I will restock, meaning I flash to a safe version of GB as given by the Overcome team. Usually 100% success rate in resolving issues.

Look for Gingerbread Stock-Safe V3 at http://overcome.mimzo.com/?page_id=558.

Instructions at http://overcome.mimzo.com/?page_id=64

Since I have SetCPU, I set it to ondemand and it seems to be sucking the battery dry. I changed it to Conservative and it works a lot better. So probably it's just me.

Oh, in my excitement with OC2.0.1 I didn't read his previous posts properly. Ha, sometimes it's good to use ODIN and go back to stock. The safe-stock v3 is also an ODIN-based solution.

Good to know all is well now..

If you're already on Overcome GB - beta or rc or gold, you should just flash the non-wipe zipfile via CWM/recovery. Don't forget to wipe the caches (cache & dalvik cache) first.

Guys...I've made it. Don't know if anyone have tried yet. Google Talk Video now works with my Tab with Overcome 2.01 + Overcome Kernal 3.0.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...6&postcount=433

Download the zip file & flash via Clockworm Recovery.
*Backup your existing rom, just in case any unforeen issue.

Err.. if i'm not mistaken, if you flash with non-wipe, you don't need to do wipe caches as the new installer takes care of that.

Well, some ppl think 9.7 inch or 10.1 inch is just a little too big for carrying around. So they find 7-inch to be perfect. Go try out iPad2 or Xoom and see if you like the size. If not, you might like a smaller size like Tab.

Compared to the iPad I had before, the Tab does everything better except for just 2 things:

1. Fewer apps for children, fewer really nice games.
2. 7" screen is too small for reading e-magazines (PDF) especially magazines with columns all over the pages.

Good news. I have 3ipad and 2 iPhone at home. Might consider to sell a ipad2 away to get a android device.
Still one question , the search function in the contact can search for company name or just the person name?
And if let say there are many companies with contact person same name as mr Tan, will it automatically join those contact together, so I have one mr Tan with many companies, address, tel,fax and note?
I have very bad experience with my motorola milestone last time. This is the only reason it holds me back from getting a android device.

i think i can confirm that the factory wipeout isn't working it only removes applications icons from application menu but u can still see them in titanium backup. when u install the same program i get the notice that " the application will replace another application all previous user data will be saved". this explains the bug mentioned earlier in my post.

Any one can confirm this (especially those who used the hermez wipe)?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My Bad.it seems i didn't read what Thepittbull wrote in the OC homepage about this. any way i still prefer it if  the factory wipe has the ability to wipe everything. because now once u install a program u can never remove its traces  shocking.gif .

OK... now we have the 3 scenarios:

1) If you restock according to your system, which is our recommended procedure for all installation of Overcome, it WILL wipe out your internal SD. This is akin to Reformating your PC and reinstalling Windows from scratch. Clean, minty fresh system.

2) The new No-wipe install, this is akin to wiping your Windows folder only, but installing it with a fresher build of windows (I know, not the best analogy, but work with me). It's still understandable that people want an easier way, instead of going through the hassle of backing and restoring. We get that. So we do it this way, with the tacit explanation that, if you choose to update, and somethings go wrong, you should do option 1 above.

Now we come to item...

3: If you do what some smart alec will tell you, that a CWM factory wipe will wipe your internal SD, then they're joshing with you big time. And this is probably what you've been doing.

A CWM factory wipe only wipes the system data only but it does not wipe the internal SD! No CWM has ever wiped the internal or external SD, except if you chose to use the format commands (which I don't recommend, if you're going to do that... might as well restock right? Cleaner!) This is akin to deleting your Windows Folder and Program Files folder, only but your other folders are in there. We've never recommended this process, and if you noticed, the Team Overcome will NEVER EVER recommend this process. Why? There's a lot of gunk still left behind. If you don't believe me, ok... compare what you see with the "My Files" and say something like "ES File Explorer" or my favourite "File Manager"... there's a lot of hidden folders and not so hidden folders like your TitaniumBackup (which is the reason in your case you still "see" the apps it in the Titanium app and not in a CWM-wiped setup) These folders are not wiped. There's a reason why it gunks up so many system this last method.

At least with a no-wipe/updater, we're prepared for problems! With the CWM Factory-wipe alone, there's issues. Trust me, we face these problems from Overcome users all the time. You won't believe how overflowing my PM box is on XDA, and how many times the team would always re-iterate, did you restock according to the guide? If you're going to wipe anyway, why don't spend an extra 5-10 mins fire Odin... and doing it, and have the clean system you ask for anyway.

Anyway, if you do step 1, I'll guarantee you the Wizard would come up all the time.

Before you asks us, why we don't do a CWM Factory reset... that wipes the internal SD, well that's just not the way CWM works. We can mod it, but to change it too far away from it's roots, would destroy a lot of usage guidance that's been built around CWM, like the knowledge that a CWM factory wipe will never wipe internal SD. Plus it's not "our" program anyway. It's just how it's done.

So, sometimes people ask us to change processes without understanding the thought processes that goes through behind it. We're not supporting one user alone. If that's the case, it's easy. In the less 24 hours since Hermes was released, 9,000 wipe installs were downloaded, and 12,000 nowipe was downloaded, with varying responses. Guess we actually care what we did with the Wizard? Which is nothing really... you just followed bad advice.

When in doubt, read what's written in TeamOvercome.net regarding Overcome, yeah?

Pitbull I faced similar issues and gets frequent pm on flashing overcome when your instructions are so clear. I always refer them back to your guide. Sometimes dont understand why can't they just read it . My advise is read it, read it again and again before attempting to flash.
Stuffs that I postup in page 1 and also in my other officialthreads , many users never bother to read and ask same questions . My PM is neverending answering question and issues which are posted on page 1. Also many users just refused or don't know how to use SEARCH TOPIC bottom of page.
