Where do you get 24 months SME?

24months warranty only can be offer to customer who purchase from samsung executive partner.

Depends how comfortable you are in dealing with warranty issue. My fren's AP set had battery issue after a month used, returned to the shop and got it fix within the week. If you're an avid AP phone buyer, you should know the drill. I think for AP set wise, try to get none US set. Euro or international or Asian are widely supported as in easier to root , e.g. signed bootloader yada yada... for US set

Why even consider AP when price difference just rm200? It is not worth the hassle if you have problem
And buying AP avoid middle east ( market restrict issues a)  and USA sets ( cannot call)
I have received 2 PM on middle east sets how to solve market issues which need flash new rom and one pm how to make USA sets can make call - this is a big headache to correct but can be done

I just got my GT for a bargain...brand new in plastic still (in the box with plastic wrap lor

But the guy make it clear, this is not from AD. If i want from AD he also got but with additional RM 200. I just refused.
Different AD and this cheaper version would be the AD come with 2 years warranty, this cheaper version with one year and need to go back to his shop.

I made a conscious judgement. I take a risk to save a bit, for i am sure i dont need the warranty anyway (i never had same phone for more than 2 years...at average only about 6 months per phone)

But i am lucky, the guy who sell the GT to me is a honest guy. I know out there many sales people con us saying this has 2 years warranty etc. So if you are those kind who need 2 years warranty then be careful...If you dont really mind about it, find the cheaper one and the difference can be invested on good Bluetooth Headset.....



By the way, mine was intended for romanian market i think as the preloaded language when you first start up was in this alien language....hahaha....luckily i just know how to figure things out despite first time using android....

now second question, my froyo is .jmk version...is it the latest one ? and on kies it stated i cant upgrade my firmware...i assumed that is korean way of saying this is the latest but would i be able to upgrade if anything new pop up ???? please advice....

Hi SGT experts.

I tried to flash overcome v2.0.0 rom but failed. I checked the installation guides then I realized I missed a important step, patch the bootloader. I managed to flash my SGT again and now it running Gingerbread v 2.3.3. stock rom.

I want to try to flash OC again. The installation guide said
"If you’re already on Gingerbread… DON’T TOUCH THE BOOTLOADER! I REPEAT: DON’T TOUCH THE BOOTLOADER!!! The note above was for Froyo-based users that want to upgrade to Overcome ROM 2.x only)".

What should I do now because I saw another important "stuff" at XDA forum, my SGT bootloader is SIGNED (I see status info from Bootloader Patch). If it is SIGNED, I can't flash the custom ROM, right?

Just curious, was your Gingerbread build stock (as in via Kies) or the one from XDA by Chainfire? Curious as SOclick shouldn't work on the Italian build.

i ask samsung center at my place and they only give 18 months of warranty. buy at sengQ as a member and you got 24 months of warranty and if you add RM295 they will add 24 months more warranty = 4 years of warranty, and i just buy from sengQ

Ahha... so it's a pure stock GB, not the rooted one Chainfire has provided. Anyway, if you're planning to get to Overcome, there's the official guide to flashing Overcome ROMs/Kernels on TeamOvercome.net. HOWEVER, I'd suggest you wait. I'm currently running the final tests on 3.0.1 release candidates, and it's looking good. Apart from some "theme" errors, which AB86 is correcting now, it should be ready to go. Tentatively, we're hoping to launch it tomorrow night. (Planned ETA, if no bugs, should be around 8-9pm tomoro)

Suggest you go over to TeamOvercome.net to grab the 001-GB-stock-safe_v2.zip package now, while the site is running fast, compared to tomorrow where the downloading crush should come. It's a good package to keep in your arsenal, so that whenever you encounter any problems, you can easily "restock" back to a working stock condition. Give you an example, with the current Honeycomb (Alpha 2.5) by spacemoose1: there seems to be a problem with GB bootloaders, and users were recommended to restock back to Froyo, using the Overcome created Froyo stock-safe package (JMK-stock-safe.zip) which you can get here: http://www.multiupload.com/U88JTJ4P10

These two stock safe packages should be in every Tab enthusiasts' arsenal of tools... at least the Window users' arsenals...

If you're on Overcome. There's a tips/tweaks page on TOE. Try applying the AngryGPS fix.

I have 3 cables, 1 house, car with charger momex and office plus original cable tuck in my pack as another backup *i paranoid* . I bought momex at tropicana mall near the escalator same floor with GSC. Cost RM80 make sure you test in your car as well, ask the guy go to your car. Coz i had experienced that sometime even though can charge via the make shift wall socket they have, in car got problem.

It mall section 14 pj have original car charger as well, cost RM70 i think.. found it after i got mine

cable noneed to worry lah ..... as long is USB --> Samsung adapter can already
