i also have a problem with installing kies version 2.0, but mine is once its downloaded it gives me an error message that it cant finish the installation. tried it couple of times even after i uninstalled my older kies.
I just downloaded and installed on Windows 7 without any issues. Was doing it to root and install the Overcome 2.0 beta on my new SGT smile.gif
Could it be the binaries that was downloaded was corrupted in some way? I downloaded from the link in benny888's guide to rooting.

BTW, Gingerbread is so much better than the Stock ROM Froyo 2.2 that came originally with the device. Now eagerly waiting for RC1 smile.gif

Hi,

I tried installing the Papago X5 as per the instructions in the first few posts and got it working.

But although its full-screen, the app does not utilize the entire screen. The menu buttons are about 3/4 way on the bottom-right...

Am I doing it right?

And has anyone tried this?

Papago X5 for Galaxy Tab on M3Shoppe

BTW, the price also dropped to RM 99.00

Todate, is it possible to run a .exe windows 7 prog in Galaxy? It is a custom made software that runs in windows 7, using IE8 interface.

Don't think so, as far as I know. If you need to run Windows exe files, you probably should consider the Acer Iconia Win7 tablet which is coming soon or has just arrived in our market.

First impressions of Overcome 2.0 RC1 is very good. thing I test was flash video performance on browser - noticeably smoother and faster than before
Those already on OC 2.0 beta - just need to download the update zip and flash it from recovery - whole process took just 3 minutes to complete
The initial splash screen is very nice
So guys, once is up and available, do u rom - all your data remains intact. I think it will be release officially anytime today or tomorrow based on pitbull's comments

Well if it uses an IE8 interface, the app should have a web server running behind it. You could try running the app on the Windows 7 machine and connect to it using the browser on your Galaxy. It'll probably still not work if it has ActiveX controls in the interface, but worth a try.

Just wait for the release of RC1 - I am sure alterbridge wants to give all of us a minimal bugs free rom. Just allow him some more time for testing. So far, my brief impressions of it is superb

Yeah agreed. Overcome 2.0 RC1 is quite a subtle but noticeable improvement over beta2. Official release should be anytime today.

Had to uninstall Flash 10.3 and reinstall it to get my browsers working again, but this was not a big issue.

Pity no ext4 conversion yet, celaka Samsung still has not released the GB sources for the Tab. mad.gif mad.gif

by the way my suggestion is that you stick with you'r original kies u got with you'r phone. there isn't much of a difference and its working fine in terms of connection.

Added on May 20, 2011, 7:12 amjust an observation regarding charging the battery. once you charge the battery to 100% you better take it off other wise it's not effective to let it go on; the reason is i think once it reaches the 100% mark the battery stops charging and relies on the internal juice. different than other batteries i tried with my other phones.

i just left my tab charging over night 6 hours and already reached 100%. but then i unplug and plug it back and the battery is like 80% and start charging back and thats all when the phone is off.

by the way i already have calibrated my battery.
*
Weird, did not happen to me. I a lways charge till morning, unplug and shows 99%, off it, charge again till 100% off'ed. Boot up at 99%. With GB, i can now do my daily stuff wit enough juice left when i reach home. Which is about 7-8 pm. Awesome stuff.

LOL! Stop pressing the F5 button for now, you'll only wear it out! Barring any show-stopping bugs that crop up in these last few hours of burn-ins... the RC1 is slated for release at about 8pm MY time, along with the surprise alterbridge86 has been alluding to. :-)

Right now, with permission from the team, I've opened up a special preview for only two people here on LYN... as I respect their opinion and feedback. So just be a little bit patient, yeah? Trust me, it's worth it.

Surprises (the good ones) are always nice. smile.gif And previews are even nicer!

Thanks for the special preview, bro. Much appreciated. Overcome 2.0.0 rc1 has actually made shelve my plans to go back to Overcome 1.6.4 thumbup.gif My friend playing PES2011 on the Tab has just commented that he noticed slightly smoother gameplay than yesterday ha ha..

Added on May 20, 2011, 1:52 pmA bit more feedback on RC1, if you will all bear with me. Based on changelog:

Flash Player 10.3 - a bit easier to double tap to full screen playback, probably slightly smoother playback but I'm not 100% certain.

Fugutweaks 0.2 Included (app_process from Honeycomb) - not sure what this does, need to research a bit more into this

Cifs/ext4 support - no filesystem conversion yet, so no ext4 goodness, and I don't use cifs

Browser Mods – I use Opera Mobile and Dolphin mini so enhancements to the stock web browser is not so apparent to me

Google Talk from AOSP 2.3.4 integrated (voice works – video not so much…yet) - I don't gtalk on the Tab, so this does not affect me

Notification bar themed - Pretty smile.gif

GPU Drivers from Nexus S 2.3.4 integrated - my QA guy (the fella who plays PES2011 on my Tab says the game's a bit quicker or smoother now)

New Bootanimation - Sexy! I like..

FuguTweaks are cool!

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=981125

QUOTE
This tweak adds responsiveness on the phone. What it does is replace app_process and system_server binaries by the ones found in android 2.3.3_r1 or 3.0 (v0.2)

Note that those binaries have been compiled by me from google official source.

This has been qualified by supercurio as a taste of the Nexus S 2.3.3 smoothness.

It will not make your battery last longer or the opposite. Neither will it improve quadrant benchmarks.

Bro, you know what is FUGU....
Puffer fish from Japan. It's dangerous. If eaten without proper process, it may kill you.
I think this is the reason why it says : "It will not make your battery last longer or the opposite."

haha.... tongue.gif
