Hi,

Just got my Tab yesterday and managed to root it following benny888's blog.

Just feedback - the 1st method of rooting didn't work but the 2nd worked without issues at all.

Planning to try flashing the ROM... next.

All these posts really helps.

Thank y'all!

i also have a problem with installing kies version 2.0, but mine is once its downloaded it gives me an error message that it cant finish the installation. tried it couple of times even after i uninstalled my older kies.
I just downloaded and installed on Windows 7 without any issues. Was doing it to root and install the Overcome 2.0 beta on my new SGT smile.gif
Could it be the binaries that was downloaded was corrupted in some way? I downloaded from the link in benny888's guide to rooting.

BTW, Gingerbread is so much better than the Stock ROM Froyo 2.2 that came originally with the device. Now eagerly waiting for RC1 smile.gif

Hi,

I tried installing the Papago X5 as per the instructions in the first few posts and got it working.

But although its full-screen, the app does not utilize the entire screen. The menu buttons are about 3/4 way on the bottom-right...

Am I doing it right?

And has anyone tried this?

Papago X5 for Galaxy Tab on M3Shoppe

BTW, the price also dropped to RM 99.00

Todate, is it possible to run a .exe windows 7 prog in Galaxy? It is a custom made software that runs in windows 7, using IE8 interface.
*
Well if it uses an IE8 interface, the app should have a web server running behind it. You could try running the app on the Windows 7 machine and connect to it using the browser on your Galaxy. It'll probably still not work if it has ActiveX controls in the interface, but worth a try.

First impressions of Overcome 2.0 RC1 is very good. First thing I test was flash video performance on browser - noticeably smoother and faster than before
Those already on OC 2.0 beta - just need to download the update zip and flash it from recovery - whole process took just 3 minutes to complete
The initial splash screen is very nice - I like the Android chomping up apple ( inside the O alphabet 0f Overcome )
So guys, once is up and available, do update your 2.0 rom - all your data remains intact. I think it will be release officially anytime today or tomorrow based on pitbull's comments

Gah!!! Where can I d/l the update? I just flashed mine to Overcome 2.0 Beta 2 yesterday! lol

google "tab papago patch"

Thanks so much for the pointer Ajay67... smile.gif

Searching around, I found some posts that led back to the Android thread in LYN that talked about this issue with the X5 SG and MY version that has this problem. The Thai version however, works! Not only does it work... it has Landscape mode as well.. Managed to set it up and running now... smile.gif

Here's the link to the other thread in LYN.
Android Thread Discussion on Papago X5

Move on from there to some other sites out there... smile.gif

If anyone needs any help, please PM me and I'll try to help.

still cannot.. i install the maps (exe file) and install it to computer.. after that i copy the file from my computer to tab.. is it the right way..
*
Which version are u using? If u r using the MY n SG version, there should be a folder called Malaysia undrr Maps folder inside the NaviSEA folder. Copy all the files from where u hv installed the MFM maps (from the exe file) and overwtite all the files in the Malaysia folder.

I bought at Lowyat for RM 65. Its plastic back with rough surface is great.

Looks like a nice case indeed. May I ask which shop in Low Yat did you get it from?
