Those on overcome and flashed (not full wipe) to 1.6.3/1.6.4 do you still need to flash the JMF modem and do the GPS lock fix code after that ?

QUOTE(benny888 @ May 6 2011, 10:30 AM) Not necessary to flash modem unless you want to change your present one. from day one I use until today, I never bother to flash the GPS lock fix - since it has no issues at all thanks for the reply. I found the in call volume to be low and flashing the JMF helped when I was on 1.6.1 Will try flashing to 1.6.4 and see if I have the same issuesAdded on May 6, 2011, 10:43 am QUOTE(danieloo @ May 6 2011, 10:30 AM) I switch to 1.6.1 > 1.6.3 and yesterday 1.6.4 any noticeable difference from 1.6.3 -> 1.6.4 ?All using update ROM from Clockworm Recovery. QUOTE(kmrdeva @ May 11 2011, 12:24 PM) I have 2 headsets now, an Aliph Jawbone Icon (superb noise cancellation, not so good battery life) and a Jabra Extreme (ok noise cancellation, good battery life) - both work pretty well with both my Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab. Jawbone was almost RM400, and the Extreme was RM300. May not fit your criteria of 'cheap'. does the jawbone/jabra show caller id on the bluetooth headset ? If yes does it show only phone number or including name ? TIA |

After almost half a day on the overcome 2.0 I must say its bloody brilliant. Snappier and more responsive despite not having OC abilities and I thought I would miss not being to undervolt the tab but after using it for (web browsing/tweeting almost the whole night/3g+wifi/taking pictures/using GPS to 4sq) I'm still left with 30% battery after 6 1/2 hours.
Resisting the urge to charge just so I can see at what level the battery dies off. I'm totally loving it Added on May 13, 2011, 12:06 amGot this from xda forums. If you're on overcome 2.0 try this Go to Settings > About device... Now Tap on Firmware version, and keep on tapping on it! It takes a while, so just keep tappin' yeah? Enjoy... ;-) This post has been edited by yolk: May 13 2011, 12:06 AM |

QUOTE(thepittbull @ May 13 2011, 12:10 AM) You found the easter egg! ;-) yeah thanks to your post in xda Cool, my final tally with my experimentation on OC 2.0? 11 hours 54 mins of extensive use before it crapped out! I was just a wee bit too late to snap the pic to post on XDA before it crapped out on me! ;-) Added on May 13, 2011, 10:51 amI went to sleep with 2.0 beta 1 and when I woke up there's 2.0 beta 2 .. omg overcome is just awesome !!! Just flashed it and playing around with it This post has been edited by yolk: May 13 2011, 10:51 AM |

QUOTE(TwoJay @ May 13 2011, 11:07 AM) Hey guys, my mum is about to get a Galaxy Tab. I need some help from you guys within the next 20 mins i believe there is GPS chip on the Wifi version its the GPU on the wifi version is much weaker. So if you're planning to play games and play HD videos the 3G version will be more suitable. If for web browsing/emails the wifi version should suffice. Can anyone who owns the WiFi version confirm that there isn't a GPS Chip? Also, could anyone who tried both the 3G AND WiFi please tell me if there's a major difference in performance? I heard there's a difference, just how much exactly? QUOTE(elea88 @ May 13 2011, 12:20 PM) i just got my SGT today. Want to some silly question. 1. The Galaxy Tab uses a propriety connection pretty much like Apple. Which means you can't use the same mini/microusb cable like the other phones. You'll have to use the supplied cable or any 3rd party tab cables. 1. Is the cable that come with the box same as the usb cable for pc? 2. How to put in avi file for video viewing into the sd card for SGT? Thanks 2. Easiest way is to use the supplied cable, connect it to pc as usb storage and transfer your file to the internal storage or sd card |

QUOTE(TwoJay @ May 13 2011, 12:36 PM) Guys! I have another question. I'm hearing that the WiFi only version can't support HDMI output? That's something my mum will probably use. Can anyone confirm? I don't have first hand experience but based on the feedbacks from xda forums (which seems to be down now) the wifi version DOESN'T support HDMI output. This could be due to the GPU which is hardware so not sure if a software can solve itIf indeed it doesn't support it natively, is there an app or something that enables it? I'll be googling it up now but it'd be better if I have info from actual users |

QUOTE(thepittbull @ May 13 2011, 05:12 PM) LOL! Thanks again guys. I want to make this point clear first yeah, if you guys would indulge me? If you guys want to donate, best to donate to alterbridge86 at XDA... it's his work, seriously! :-) But if you really want to donate to me, nothing would really make me happier, than if you guys were to donate it to any charity for the poor or the orphans of your choice, as I know every sen counts more for them than for me! As for me, I feel that God has bless me enough already, and I'm happy with his providence... :-) I'm all up for a TT session .. brings back memories of KVPUG days LOLBut having a simple informal teh tarik session sounds nice... lepakin' with fellow Tab fiends is always great way to spend time! |

QUOTE(benny888 @ May 20 2011, 11:05 AM) First impressions of Overcome 2.0 RC1 is very good. First thing I test was flash video performance on browser - noticeably smoother and faster than before woots once again the overcome guys outdid themselves ... am constantly pressing F5 now Those already on OC 2.0 beta - just need to download the update zip and flash it from recovery - whole process took just 3 minutes to complete The initial splash screen is very nice - I like the Android chomping up apple ( inside the O alphabet 0f Overcome ) So guys, once is up and available, do update your 2.0 rom - all your data remains intact. I think it will be release officially anytime today or tomorrow based on pitbull's comments |

QUOTE(thepittbull @ May 20 2011, 01:26 PM) LOL! Stop pressing the F5 button for now, you'll only wear it out! Barring any show-stopping bugs that crop up in these last few hours of burn-ins... the RC1 is slated for release at about 8pm MY time, along with the surprise alterbridge86 has been alluding to. :-) thanks for the ETA ... was about to get a new keyboard as my F5 is really wearing out Right now, with permission from the team, I've opened up a special preview for only two people here on LYN... as I respect their opinion and feedback. So just be a little bit patient, yeah? Trust me, it's worth it. |
