if im an existing streamyx 1mb user now.. how this upgrade process can be done..? walk-in tmpoint and ask for this package..?

wad i mean was will the technician come to my house again to fix this fix that..? or a 4mb will be automatically attached to my line if i upgraded?
*
1) Go to the nearest TMPOINT around your residential areas

2) Asked them that you wish to upgrade your speed from current speed to 4Mbps

3) They will check whether your area support the 4Mbps or not (Usually you must be within 2-3KM from the exchange/remote cabinet)

4) If your line are able to support 4Mbps, they will process your request and technician will come to your house to check your physical line condition (eg SNR Margin/Line attenuation/DSL modulation etc etc).

5) New wireless modem will be given (depending on technician jugak rasanya) and they will change your line speed at your port.. Usually between 4090/512 and sometimes 5120/512 for downstream and upstream speed.

6) Wait for about 48 hours, frequently restart your router and also do the speedtest to the LOCAL server. See whether your speed has changed or not... If you notice the speed already more than 80% of 4Mbps speed (about 3.2Mbps), now your upgrade process already success.... smile.gif

The 1st choice is tm technician. If they refused by giving you lots of excuses, then you call 100 (ask for level 2 support cos the standard support know shit about this stuff).

If the technician or the level 2 customer support is nice and understanding, you'll get what you want. Otherwise, expect to receive 1001 excuses of why you cannot get 5120kbps. It depends on your luck.

Just go to the tm point to upgrade. Of course technician will come to your house to test whether the location of your home can support 4mbps or not.

According to the officer at the TMpoint, he said to me that any upgrade, relocation of homeline and Streamyx, they will renew your contract for the minimum period of one year... Execption for the super upgrade deals, where the new contract is 2 years...

Nothing to do with wifi in wpa2. It just that tm capped your port or account at 4096kbps.

You can try other download as well. Sometimes the speed is affected by the server or the downloading software.

No, he means that you should try a direct HTTP download. Example : download ubuntu.

http://www.ubuntu.com/download/ubuntu/download

If you can hit ~450 KB/s (3.5mbps) or more, then your line is fine.

From what I can see Funshion delivers video via P2P, and you do know that Streamyx has been throttling P2P for quite a while now. So it wouldn't be a big surprise if you couldn't hit 3.3-3.8mbps with it.

Edit : Ninja'd.

Technician came today and completed the 4MB installation. Sequence of events:

1. Called up 100 requested for upgrade. Answer was are ports available in the area. So 100 said a technician would show up to install.

2. One week later NO technician showed up but dsl speed had already changed to 4MB.

3. Called 100 to complain and they gave me the technician number.

4. Called the technician today, he came over and just confirmed the line stats, created a report and made a phone call to HQ. Technician told me everything's done and just wait for the account to be activated which takes 1 week.

5. After he left, immediately, the 4MB account got activated. So no waiting for that. MIRACULOUS for a such shitty company.
