Just upgraded to 4mbps an hour ago, Speedtest shows 3.60mpbs but actual download is only around 100kb/s? My 1mbps line is also around 100kb/s for download :/

But youtube is fast I must say.

This may be stupid, but I'm using Google Chrome.

Now that you mention, I might try using other browser blink.gif

Edit: Alright I'm using Safari now and the speed is around 240kb/s. I don't know if that's the speed for 4mbps but I'm happy biggrin.gif

Okay I'm getting download speed from around 380-430kb/s now.

Now I realize another problem is that when I load youtube, I always have to refresh once to get the 4mbps speed, if not it just loads like my old 1mpbs :/

Where you from? What modem model you are using? I'm having the same problem with some youtube vids. Once refresh, suddenly the vids will load faster.

I'm from Sarawak and use the same modem too. Maybe the problem is caused by the modem. I used different modem in the past and I don't think I have this issue, until I changed to the d-link modem. Or this problem is face by users in sarawak. rclxub.gif

Yeah me too. Maybe I should try using my own modem, but I'm lazy to change haha. I thought maybe leave it a few days and see how it goes.

Edit: What browser are you using? I was using Chrome until I gave Firefox a try, it worked like a charm without me refreshing.

Really? I'm also using chrome most of the time, rarely use Firefox.

I noticed that the problem only arise during the day and evening. Midnight usually OK. I will give firefox a try during peak hours.

I used to use a 4MB Streamyx line and was really happy with it in terms of connectivity and stability.. at least 80-85% of the time. It is still pricey per meg charges but its stable so yeah.

Was offered Unifi because they kept calling and telling blah blah reliable, blah blah fast, blah blah etc...

Read story below after only 2 weeks of usage :-

So after 3 emails, more than 15 calls and still 0 connectivity on a VIP20 line it only shows 1 thing...

TMNet Unifi is a half-cooked chicken that looks yummy on the outside but raw on the inside. And when you get food poisoning, you try to get the waiter, chef and owner for an explanation, all will go missing. In the end you are still given a bill because you took the bite. Damn cool business strategy I must say..LOL

Mind you, you have to friggin wait more than 15 mins per call listening to how good TMNet Unifi is (which is of course total BS ) before someone actually picks up your call, give excuses and then still nothing is solved.

Now I really miss my 4MB line! Malaysia BOLEH!

So moral of the story, you can never give up "Stability" for "speed", at least not in Bolehland

The 1st choice is tm technician. If they refused by giving you lots of excuses, then you call 100 (ask for level 2 support cos the standard support know shit about this stuff).

If the technician or the level 2 customer support is nice and understanding, you'll get what you want. Otherwise, expect to receive 1001 excuses of why you cannot get 5120kbps. It depends on your luck.

Just go to the tm point to upgrade. Of course technician will come to your house to test whether the location of your home can support 4mbps or not.

by the time i want to post my speedtest result here, i cant open speedtest.net becoz its too laggy..

streamyx is very annoying for the week since the 'underwater cable' incident again

well my line is 4mbps n i feel its a rubbish..paying more for bad quality (i live in kuching, petra jaya area)

talking about modem..i have tried 4 models - dlink (the best so far for me) , linksys (rubbish..i almost smash it) , tplink (currently using this one but the wireless so bad for online gaming) , tmnut modem innacom (quite stable for me)

what u gonna do when ur line so laggy? call 100 ofc..then they ask u to follow the restart instruction blah blah blah ..when ur problem cant be fixed? they sent technicians to your house.what they do? they just check n check n check n sometimes no result..(my opinion - they dont know goddamn thing)

why im raging atm? becoz my 4mbps line drop to 100kbps!
