I also noticed my 4mb actually is 2mb from the modem UI, i.e. 192,168.1.1, what should I do? Can I do any further troubleshooting prior calling 100 and report the matter?

Pardon me for not having read through V1 to V3 yet should my question already have been raised before . . .

QUOTE(XterNalz @ Apr 19 2011, 06:50 PM)
The installer is coming to my house in 2 days time, I suddenly received disconnection just now (around 5.30pm) and the modem shows ADSL2+ now. My SNR margin left <10, attenuation >40 because of this change. I think I have no luck with 4mbps although one of the forummers (previous version thread) here received really positive changes on SNR margin and attenuation after the change of modulation. Now, it keeps giving me 115.X IP (which sucks A LOT, I was previously using the best 6X.X IP) regardless of my streamyx account (512kbps, 1mbps). Any idea on this?
*
Then you should inform back the installer that u got a bad line statistics after he changed your connection setting at DSLAM...
For installer at my area, they usually will change the connection first at the DSLAM before come to customer house..
If the line statistics is bad, then they will cancel the upgrade process...

In my case, before this I'm using 2Mbps account with 115.xx IP and FYI, that kind of IP give me the full speed of 2Mbps when downloading from MU, RS, FS and also Youtube. I don't encounter any problem when using 115.xx IP.... I have no experience for 60.xx IP.. Now, I'm using 4Mbps.., and I don't get 115.xx IP at all.. Only 211.xx (very frequent), 175.xx and 110.xx IP (Hard to get this IP, only at the "lucky" time... some said that this IP are only reserved for Unifi users)

I think maybe the speed of certain IP depends a lot on the location of user....

Need to go home to do that ;p Will post later tonight when I'm at home. I did speedtest to Brunei before, the dl result were less than 2mb, so sad . . .

IIRC both my SNR and attenuation is in the 30's, as stated in the technician report slip.

You should call TM and asked them to transfer u to the special department that handle the 4Mbps user....

It proved that your connection are capped at 2Mbps...
For 4Mbps, you should get at least 3.2Mbps when do the speedtest to local server...

Now, it's time to call 100, request for transfer to second department since you're using 4Mbps.. (usually they will automatically transfer u to 2nd department after they checked your account information)...

Some more, you also suffered high ping problem...

5 days already I open report. Been bomboaring 100 hotline everyday. They'll just say they will email the New Installer Department and will rush them. 5 freaking days I call everyday get same reply.

Adui all sleeping is it? One feedback call also never receive from them, my speed still the same. Upgraded from 1mbps to 4mbps 2 weeks ago. Port all set up, tech came and fix everything, just my account profile in their server 1MBPS, dunno which noob tech never go update then ask me go make report.

So simple thing upgrade my profile in their server also cannot do. Damn pissed now. Everytime get same reply.
*
That's totally will be the miserable experience for u..... sweat.gif
I think, it's time for u to drop a report to MCMC and CFM...
Already 2 weeks and they still not kept the promise to the subscriber....

Maybe i'm a bit lucky when i request for 4Mbps upgrade.., after the installer leave my house, straightly my account are capped to 4Mbps...

Nah, that's why you're still charged with phone rental as well as other call charges...

You should take Blockbuster deal... RM140 included with phone rental and free call to TM fixed lines nationwide...

Or it's my mistakes, misunderstand your problem.... notworthy.gif

That one is Kasda from Telekom , i got Billion running 24/7 for my another 4 Mbps and Linksys AM300 for backup modem :-)

I do notice that TM free modem (in my case, Riger wired) give the impressive speed for 4Mbps compared to D-Link DSL-520B Wired one...

Speedtest when I bridge my D-Link to my Tp-Link Router, it gives only maximum 3.5Mbps
while when using Riger supplied by TM, it gives 3.9Mbps maximum download.. same goes to upload, with D-Link only 0.41Kbps while Riger is 0.49Kbps... So now, i'm using bridge Riger instead of D-Link.... I donno what's the factor that determine that speed... because my SNR margin and Line Attenuation same whether I'm using D-Link or Riger... Sync Speed also same...

From what I know, load balancer can be used to combine the 2 Wan lines into one single high speed line.
Like what MX do, maybe he subscribed for two 4Mbps lines, and he combine it with load balancer, so in average, he will get about 7-8Mbps internet connection.

It's better if u asked MX itself about the load balancer things since he already succeed to make it tongue.gif

Anyone here can enlighten me more, which ping reading is more trustable... Speedtest/Pingtest.net or through command prompt?

My ping reading to KL server when I'm doing a speedtest.net is about 30-34ms while when I'm pinging Google.com (why Google, since they have a mirror server in M'sia, thus it will be considered as Local connection) i got about just average about 24ms and peaked at 26ms...

went to tm point and upgraded my 512k to 4mbps on monday... woke up this morning (~11am) and found out the DSL light on my modem is off and internet down... no technician has called me yet.... errrrrrr....???  rclxub.gif
*
Maybe they just reconfigured your port at DSLAM... That's why your DSL light and internet is down...
Try to restart your modem and if the DSL light is stable, check your SNR/Attenuation reading as well as your downstream and upstream speed...
Usually, technician will set your port first at the exchange/street cabinet, then after that they will go to your house to test the speed...
After they confirm that your connection are capable for 4Mbps, then they will call TM to upgrade at your account side...
