Good afternoon! Does anybody here use Usenet here? I'd like to know if it's blocked by TM, thanks! smile.gif

Added on August 23, 2012, 9:55 pmHmm.. it seems like Streamyx is now giving IP which are throttled.
I tried some IPs, including IPs starting with 115, 175, 210, 219, only 115 performs well.

Here my speedtest, get 4.85 mbps last time....but now sad.gif

ADSL = up to 8Mbps

if ADSL2/2+ can up to 24Mbps

but the speed may greatly reduce if the copper line length longer than 1km
shorter, lesser than 1km, you get 20-24Mbps

I'm not sure which type of DSL TM Streamyx are using, basically almost same tech,

that is why TM recommend the 4M user house to exchange distance at least within 2km

they do not offer higher than 4M on ADSL, because providing fixed package speed for user beyond 4M can be difficult and problematic

if you see ISPs in Australia, is a good example, they usually offer package speed as "Up to 20-24Mbps", price is tag by the amount of quota

they cannot provide user the actual speed, the speed is depend on how far and where they live, at least can guarantee 1.5Mbps for their users.

now malaysia use UniFi instead, which distance is not a problem with fiber optic light speed, can provide fixed ultra high speed, so Streamyx will be discontinued someday and replace by UniFi

but then...after they cap...usually i get 3.7Mbps or at most 4Mbps..never get 4.3Mbps also...

if they introduce higher speed with streamyx, definitely they will change the contract to include fair usage limit..
