i use speedtest.net and just choose the best server ...so i'm not sure which server was chosen eventually... how do you specifically check the latency to lowyat.net ? QUOTE(nymerine @ Aug 17 2012, 11:40 AM) Latency to where? For me, both hometown and my apt gets pretty much the same latency. 33-38ms to lowyat.net

QUOTE(selikatwo @ Aug 17 2012, 03:15 PM) i face some disconnect problem here: when i check on modem, on ASDL status, the id key changes. if working it will stated: Line Connected. when disconnect, i check at ASDL status, there are some id which is Line TRAINING, Line STARTED, Line_ANALYSIS it randomly changes...anyone face this problem? AFAIK, Line TRAINING, Line STARTED, Line_ANALYSIS are the statuses when handshaking is occurring between your modem & streamyx. When your status shows Line Connected, can you access the internet?

QUOTE(Ord_s @ Aug 16 2012, 11:00 PM) Guess I'm one of the lucky ones. Upgraded from 1mb to 4mb about a month ago & speed always 4mb+ day or night Bukit Bintang KL area It just happened again and I just restarted the modem. Not sure the problem lies with the modem or what... I already use this 4mbps line more than 2 years. Not much issues in these couple of years except sometimes.

Hello there, I've recently upgraded from 1Mbps to 4Mbps and have been spamming torrent downloads lately, since the download speed can go up till 400++kbps. I have two questions though. 1) How can I improve my upload speed on utorrent, because the site I'm downloading from requires seeding back, and my upload speed never surpasses 0.5kbps. I checked on speedtest.net my internet's upload speed is around 0.24Mbps. 2) My download speed on speedtest.net shows that my average download speed is around 2.4Mbps, even though I signed a 4Mbps package. Does that mean that my line is capped at 2.5Mbps? Is there any way to maximize my speed to what I've subscribed? I appreciate any replies. Thank you

Not possible to go more than 50KB/s for upstream, all packages maxed at 50KB/s upstream except Unifi. However you can try subscribe seedbox services or rent your own VPS just for torrenting purposes. If you're interested I can intro you to a cheap VPS package (512mb ram,65gb space, 3cores, 2tb bandwidth for rm20) or you prefer already made seedbox can refer to my signature. 2. From the top line you already said you got 400KB/s, 2.5Mbps speedtest you getting must be an error or the server you're doing the test is on high load. You might want to add your modem page snapshot here, so we can see actual speed capped for your line.

QUOTE(AhBoy~~ @ Aug 19 2012, 07:05 PM) hi, its difficult to setup VPS? Im interested Not that hard, just that you must know some basic knowledge how to use linux simple command like browsing through directories e.g cd /etc and editing some config/textfiles e.g nano/vim blahblah.conf . The rest you can follow how-to guide to setup seedboxes and stuff. You can also use torrent client with pre-made webui such as qBittorent but they're rarely optimized for VPS(high load per transfer etc). Also you need to worry about getting DMCA notices if you're getting your torrents from public tracker, a notice means your provider will terminate your service instantly without paying back you any cents. This however, can be evaded by using non-US VPS e.g kimsufi , ovh which mostly based in France. This post has been edited by nymerine: Aug 19 2012, 07:27 PM
