i installed 4Mbps for almost a month already i think...line has been pretty stable so far...consistently achieve 4Mbps...actually my line can go up to 8Mbps according to the TM contractor...but too bad only got 4Mbps max for the package...

and when i request to upgrade, no such thing as no more port etc... the contractor just come to my house and then he did something with the internet setup and then very fast already change to 4Mbps...

smile.gif so far so good... love this 4Mbps line since i don't want a lot of drilling and exposed wiring for the Unifi... sad.gif

Added on July 22, 2012, 10:31 pmi always use speedtest and always very consistent get 4Mbps... it will go over 4Mbps but eventually will be near 4Mbps...

QUOTE(seanwc101 @ Jul 12 2012, 06:34 PM)
Guys, can you please compare 4mbps speed test from TM speedometer and P1 speedometer and post the results here?

My 4mbps seems slow today. TM technician came to test and he insist on using TM speedometer, which showed my line is normal (which I think is BS since the speedometer is a fraud). I tested with P1 speedtest and speedtest.net and the results showed the speed less than 1mbps for download. Normally the speed is more than 4mbps. Watch youtube also stuck here and there. I explain to the technician but he just said other speedometer is not accurate. BS.

hi all 4MBps users....

i would like to confirm what is the typical ping that you get?

before i upgrade, i remember my ping is like 50ms or around there....but then now after i upgrade....seems like the ping is 100ms around there...88ms to 110ms range....

is this logical? due to speed upgrade? or due to recent traffic, just so coincidence?

thanks.

i use speedtest.net and just choose the best server ...so i'm not sure which server was chosen eventually...

how do you specifically check the latency to lowyat.net ?

QUOTE(nymerine @ Aug 17 2012, 11:40 AM)
Latency to where?
For me, both hometown and my apt gets pretty much the same latency. 33-38ms to lowyat.net

i guess then my house is quite near exchange point.... can get almost 8Mbps when installer came and check the speed....
rclxms.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

but then...after they cap...usually i get 3.7Mbps or at most 4Mbps..never get 4.3Mbps also...

QUOTE(squall0833 @ Aug 24 2012, 12:03 AM)
ADSL = up to 8Mbps

if ADSL2/2+  can up to 24Mbps

but the speed may greatly reduce if the copper line length longer than 1km
shorter, lesser than 1km, you get 20-24Mbps
I'm not sure which type of DSL TM Streamyx are using, basically almost same tech,

that is why TM recommend the 4M user house to exchange distance at least within 2km

they do not offer higher than 4M on ADSL, because providing fixed package speed for user beyond 4M can be difficult and problematic
if you see ISPs in Australia, is a good example, they usually offer package speed as "Up to 20-24Mbps", price is tag by the amount of quota

they cannot provide user the actual speed, the speed is depend on how far and where they live, at least can guarantee 1.5Mbps for their users.
now malaysia use UniFi instead, which distance is not a problem with fiber optic light speed, can provide fixed ultra high speed, so Streamyx will be discontinued someday and replace by UniFi

hi all,

may i ask if it is possible for someone to use our streamyx account and log in from their place at the same time?

that means streamyx can log in from two different place? or if someone use my account, then i cannot use, means only one time log in per telephone number/location?

thanks
