I called SCB Malaysia and queried them about the transaction clarification done by SCB Singapore and why not Malaysia office. I was informed that for online overseas transactions, authorisation is done in SCB Singapore office.

(whojen). I've actually made an effort to call the hotline listed in the CPP page for Maybank: http://www.maybank2u.com.my/mbb_info/m2u/p.../PRO-PromotionsIt appears that this number is one of their sales representative according to them, unless the number listed in the page above is also fake la. Guys, Earlier this evening I got this call, actually from a mobile number, but i didn't notice it first, just answer the phone. The guy said that he is from the bank that i am using, and is promoting like a bonus card or something. Then, he ask me details about my cc, first, he ask me about my card validity, I, without no suspicion at all just answer it, then, he ask me about my 16 digit card number, and suddenly i come back to realize, how come the bank want the number from me, they are supposed to have it right?. Then i just said that i had some work to do, and the guy said that he will call me again later. So, i didn't give the card number, and also the 3 digit number behind, he just get my card validity only. He also know my name...How come this happened?..hurmmm..By the way, what do you guys think?. Am I in danger of being conned or something?. Thanks in advanced guys....

Well, my friend has this habit of insist-to-call-back whenever anyone claiming from the bank call her. This is because, when you are the one making the call to the bank, you are 100% sure that you're talking to your bank (unless you dialed the wrong number).
So in your case, if you're truly interested with the promotion, insist you'll call back the bank directly to sign up or register. If the promotion is real, the customer service hotline will know what to do. If the customer service don't know what you're talking, chances of the earlier call being a scam is high.

Shouldn't be a problem since he did not manage to get your credit card number as well as the CVV. Anyway, you may want to call your card issuer bank and talk to their customer service officer, see what they suggest you to do. By the way, if anyone from Citibank calls. They usually will just confirm you the last 4-digit of your credit card number and they are the one to read the 4-digit out and all you need to do is to reply correct or not.

Yeah, I've called the customer service guy, and he said that it is ok since I only give the card validity, and not the cc number and CVV. ...Thanks for the advice guys...hehe.. Must be more careful from now onwards..

Ok, will post at first post. If you read the thread, the number ID that was shown in his phone really belongs to the Skudai police station!!?? Received called from this number.
0192560863. From Zest Leisure. Asked for your card information. Firstly she asked me for my CC. Then I said I don't have. Then she asked me did I have any cards? wtf? One time pay RM499 and no monthly/annual fee.
Just a question, from the thread, all this telemarketing charged RM499. Don't understand why 499?
