applied uob card at a shopping mall, and received a notification that i have won an Ipad2 from the lucky draw, and it says that the prize would be sent to my house in 2 weeks time, not sure if this is a scam or wat.....

Beware if you get a call from this number 016 6263171. Same modus operandi which has been reported here before.

She claimed to call from Wawasan Takaful and told me her name is Tasha. She got my full name correct. Then, asked me if my MBB Visa is still active.

From that point, I know this is another hoax call because I have terminated it a couple of months ago.

She said she wanted to "buat pengesahan sahaja" and asked for my card expiry date.

today i got a call from this number 0163364087
asking whether did i receive my CC already not
since i'm request to send to my house and only went back on weekend so didnt get to check yet
then after that she trying to ask where am i working currently, which work did i do and bla bla bla

then told here very busy right now and promise me with return call but till now no news from her d

anyone receive any call from this number before??
p/s: i'm applied for MM2 card

1. Did she say where she's from?
2. Where you apply your MBB 2 cards? If you apply at booths in the malls, sometimes the staff are not MBB staff but agents (i.e. not employed by the bank). Did you ask how she knew you applied for the card?
3. If she is from MBB, she can check the system and see your employment records. So most probably she got no access to MBB system and therefore not MBB staff.

well i applied through one of the maybank branch
but she did mention she calling from mbb

but since the time she call, i was busy so didnt ask much and answer much to her

could it be possibly that i have not yet activate my card since the cc already arrive at my doorstep?

why the girl so free use her handphone. If she really from MBB, either MBB customer service is very good that they follow up with their customers... which I doubt it OR she got some other agenda asking you personal questions like where you working.

AND just to let you know, MBB 2 Cards DO NOT need activation and can be used immediately staright from the envelope.

Sound similar to my Kad Celebriti phone call(item no.12). Asked me about whether I received my card, where I work, my occupation.

before i apply for CC, i did receive lot's of call (land line) and claim they are from maybank and introduce me with CC and other promotion

Appreciate if you can entertain the caller if you receive another call and do update us. Don't get scam though . Once she/he blurt out the products they selling, just say not interested.

If it is really the same scam, you will receive another call again in few days time provided the caller have not gave-up.

Got a call from this number +60 16 262 7654 (not in the list yet) saying she offering me a VIP card since I'm a credit card holder. Told her not interested and not to call me anymore. Then she just say "We just going to put your name under KIV" and rudely hung up on me. WT....

she is miss wu from AEON Credit Card Center KL.
she said that i "have" a gold card with credit limit 10k
haven't paid for 3 month and AEON wanna sue me if i not pay.

i was scared and confuse...i ask for details and she gave me:

5460750048601830 as my so called çc
applied on 5/5/2011 at aeon JB branch
issued on 30/5/2011
mailing address is at 117, taman pelangi, 80720 JB (im from ipoh and never lived any where else except KL)
transaction date 2/6/2011 at sentosa, singapore (i dont even have a passport how come)

i was like damn.... ruin my puasa mood la... now got ppl use my ic pulak...

but it got suspicious when, i said i wanna make a police report 1st since my ic is used in this application...
miss wu kept telling me to call 03-27727300the dept of c.card fraud of Bank Negara. so that bank negara can issue a letter to cancel this card...

i was like... can u just cancel the card... since i am who i am you think of..ie the card owner...just cancel the card...
she kept saying kenot...need BNM approval... so was like... since when?...then she change subject like im in more deep trouble if the card is swiped more and i have to pay more...

when i got home...i get ready to go to the police station to make a report... then i was like... why dont i google for bank negara number instead.... and couldnt find the 03-27727300 on bnm site... the i googled the number and i was brought here to my fav forum...

matter solved....

thanks for all teh heads up...if not... i am well sure that i am the next victim in the statistic....
will call aeon for confirmantion later

7. 03-27727300. post#66, this morning, claiming she is from pengurusan kad palsu, Bank Negara Malaysia...telling I have a Aeon credit card which already being used up the CL of 10k and did not make any payment since 3 months ago (JJBerry).

today i received the call from the same number again,
claim that she call from menara maybank card centre and just wanted to do some verification on the expired date printed on CC
i ask her why use digi line, but then she say that, the centre using 0163364087 as their lane line
also claim that without that, my card could not be activated but i have already started using the CC and have successfull transaction

at the end of the call, she said that nvm lar if you cant give any cooperation

anyone receive similar call before

Got a call from 0167123427 today.
These f***ers never give up.

They are from this so called 'service card centre'. They used to call me almost once a week. I told them off several times already, sometimes I even ended the call without saying anything. They stopped calling me for a few months... until today.

Excerpts from the conversation:

Moron: Saya dari service card centre kl, kami ditugaskan oleh pihak bank untuk membuat pengesahan tentang 1 kad supplementary...

Me: Okay...

Moron: Kita mulakan dengan alamat dulu

Me: Apa benda ni saya takda order apa-apa, taknak lah benda ni

Moron: Encik ini bukan masalah mau atau tak mau... (interrupted)

Me: AHH INI SEMUA TRICK SAYA DAH BANYAK KALI DAPAT CALL DARI CARD CENTRE BODOH NI

got this call from this bugger 0193352189 last week, claiming to be from card center.
got my name correct, but when i ask him which bank he's calling from, he repeatedly claim its from card center, then when i insisted on asking him which bank punya card center, he hung up.

i got a call too last month from a some sort what smart card protection center or whatever......and just found this thread today +D

calling me while i'm busy working with my client.

operator: helo xxx, saya calling dari smart card protection center under maybank.

me : halo, ok, what is this about?

operation: we currently having a promotion as you are one of our lucky one chosen to get subscribed our services for free.

me: huh? what services.

operation: as we what our company smart card protection named. we will protect each of your cards privileges and security whenever if u lost it or anything happen. Credit card, ATM card, xxx card.......bla bla bla.

me: oh...tak payah, i'm busy now....if i interested i will go to your main office apply.

operator: tak boleh encik, mana u pergi???? u tau mana office kita?? apa nama office kita?? (in a louder tone)

me: (i was thinking wtf is this shit n pissing me off soon..) saya tak tau apa atau mana u punya office, but just now u said u under maybank so i'll call up maybank to ask ur office whereabout.

operation: tak boleh encik, kita bukan dari maybank, maybank tak tau mana kita punya office, kalau u nak subscribe u kena subscribe sekarang....

me: .......................................(speechless)

operation: macam mana encik, u can provide me all ur cards details and u will imediately get our protection will a rm20 annual fee only.

me: i dun wan....

operation: WHY DUN WAN ?!

me: i dun wan lo ~ ~
