My comment: as long as u swipe rm1500 immediately after u get ur card, u will get the watch unless HSBC didn't really prepare 2500 watch to their customers. 1 month time for 2500 card approved is impossible for a bank.

I guess we have to wait for the news then, won't we doh.gif

For HSBC Amanah MPower Visa Platinum Credit Card-i, it says if total spent for the month is above rm2k, then get 8% rebate right? So example, I use it for education fee, RM6100, means I get back RM488 cash back?

5% Cash Back for total monthly spend of RM2,000 and below OR 8% Cash Back for total monthly spend of RM2,001 and above.
Cash Back is only applicable for spend made during weekends i.e. Saturdays and Sundays during Programme Period.
The maximum Cash Back on Petrol, Groceries and Dining for Each Eligible Cardholder(s) is RM100 per participating month and an unlimited Cash Back for other categories from core product features.

Participating merchants nationwide:
Petrol - Shell, Caltex and Petronas.
Groceries - Giant, Tesco and AEON Big.
Dining - Any spend that are made at local merchants categorized as Dining in the Merchant Category Codes.

read and study the full T&Cs

even if you pay RM6.1k for education fee to "unlock' the 8% cashback, it doesnt fall into Petrol/Groceries/Dining categories but falls under "Other Categories" which is 0.3% cashback.

1 month Malaysia are having 2100 being sued bankruptcy, so it is possible for the quota reached, since who can tell this except the bank.

2100 is inclusive of whole Malaysia bank but not solely from 1 bank. Now we refer to HSBC bank alone, 1 month to reach 2500 new card application n not necessary approve 100%

I never bother much on the promotion each banks gives.
Just imagine you set the target to get the watch, but at the end get nothing.
On HLB, someone also not getting his fan doh.gif
With the reason his name was not in the database rclxub.gif
And we need to serve the AF and GST also, getting more cards are not a good step for now.

I will only apply if I know I got thing need to spend. For eg insurance premium. Won't purposely spend extra to get the watch.. If got thing to swipe, no harm trying. U won't lose anything as 1st yr annual fee n gst is "free". U can just cancel b4 anniversary n u don need to serve gst or annual fee next yr.

Just give a try.
I won't try HSBC unless they are giving 15% of cash back.
The only bank that keep on rejecting my application rclxub.gif
