although rebate is quite good, there are 2 problems:
1) Promo ending 30 June 2014. 2.5 months remaining, so getting the card now may not worthwhile/ 2) The maximum Cash Back on Petrol, Groceries and Dining is capped at RM4,600,000 throughout the Programme Period and will be awarded/given out on a first come, first serve basis. <-- No one knows if the 4.6mil payout already depleted or still available for this 2 months. |

QUOTE(mamamia @ Apr 20 2014, 11:28 AM) Wondering wat is the sign up promotion for HSBC amanah MPower card? the cashback promo is a time-limited offer.I saw there is RM650 cash back promotion, but is it guarantee basis or first come first serve? Any roadshow recently that I can approach to verify? read up here http://savemoney.my/hsbc-credit-card-get-u...s-11th-may-2014 or HSBC http://www.hsbcamanah.com.my/1/2/amanah/pe...m-credit-card-i (scroll down to get the T&Cs, etc.) this card also the best dining card http://www.imoney.my/articles/best-dining-credit-card The 8% Cash Back Programme will tentatively end 30 June 2014. Better not getting this card now since you'll got around 2 months to use it anyway. Better wait till near end June if the program will extend further. Seems like HSBC is extending the promo every 6 month. |

after reviewing much of this HSBC Amanah Mpower's 5%/8% CB, I'm wondering ... how long does the bank credit back the cashback to you?
let's say for June 2014's spending, when will the cashback be credited back? reason i asked this is because of the T&Cs stated this: "within 6 weeks after the end of each Participating Month and will be reflected in the following month’s bill statement." since each Participating Month is full calendar month, June 2014's spending will get it's cashback somewhere around mid-August? QUOTE(ftan @ Jun 6 2014, 07:13 AM) I'm wondering if the tablet is worth to get? Saw the advertisement in Sun papers today. $100 cashback for online application.
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « nothingz mentioned the mediapad worth RM550.the RM100 cashback for online application, i guess it's RM50 (1st swipe) + RM50 (online application). also to get the mediapad, need to spend RM1.5k within 30 days after gotten the Welcome Letter. and guess what: BT amount is eligible if you have other CCs, quickly BT to this card in 30 days, so i guess it's easier to achieve RM1.5k. |

QUOTE(ftan @ Jun 6 2014, 07:25 AM) 1.5k spending is achievable. No need BT. i'm more interested on the cashback offerings I notice got Malay Mail subscription included with the tablet. Just wondering what other hidden charges there will be. I think need to pay delivery for physical newspapers (if I recall correctly, MM online package comes with physical papers as well). kinda nice since no AF and GST for 1st year. good to be used as backup for Amex if you're used to spending during weekends and always blew up the Amex's cashback. still tempted to fill in the form or not. |

QUOTE(ftan @ Jun 6 2014, 07:43 AM) LOL. Me too. Using MBB Amex for the cashback. if get the cards online, this promo's rebates already cover AF and GST liao.I've not looked at HSBC cards since I only read about the offer today. Would you mind advising which HSBC card to apply? No AF and GST? these cards for the promotion: QUOTE HSBC Bank Credit Cards: HSBC Premier World MasterCard Credit Card, HSBC Visa Signature Credit Card, HSBC Visa Platinum Credit Card, HSBC Visa Reward Credit Card issued by HSBC Bank; and HSBC Amanah Credit Card-i(s): HSBCPremier World MasterCard Credit Card-i, HSBC Amanah MPower Visa Platinum Credit Card-i, HSBC Amanah MPower Visa Credit Card-i issued by HSBC Amanah; more specifically, HSBC Amanah MPower Visa (/Platinum) Credit Card-i almost similar to amex (assuming just <RM2k/mth spending and getting 5% cashback). <-- supposedly ending Dec 2014, but HSBC has been extending this for few times liao http://www.hsbcamanah.com.my/1/2/amanah/pe...al/credit-cards. QUOTE(cannavaro @ Aug 3 2014, 11:17 PM) Got a pleasant surprise from HSBC recently. possibly depends on the MCC code to eligible for travel cashback! and it was an awesome move by your accessory/tyre shop to engage with the travel agency to swipe ur cc! Back in June I bought a new set of coilovers for my car. The shop didn't have their own CC terminal but the owner have made arrangements with the travel agency a few doors away for CC payments, but with a high 3% surcharge. I agreed, however. Many days later I saw the following on my recent transactions via HSBC online.. ![]() I didn't even know how I got this 'welcome travel cashback' so I searched on the net and found out that they are running a travel campaign. No idea how I got the additional 'travel spend' RM25 much later though. The 3% surcharge was RM80 or thereabouts.. thank god I accepted it. |

QUOTE(ngaisteve1 @ Oct 4 2014, 01:40 PM) For HSBC Amanah MPower Visa Platinum Credit Card-i, it says if total spent for the month is above rm2k, then get 8% rebate right? So example, I use it for education fee, RM6100, means I get back RM488 cash back? 5% Cash Back for total monthly spend of RM2,000 and below OR 8% Cash Back for total monthly spend of RM2,001 and above.Cash Back is only applicable for spend made during weekends i.e. Saturdays and Sundays during Programme Period. The maximum Cash Back on Petrol, Groceries and Dining for Each Eligible Cardholder(s) is RM100 per participating month and an unlimited Cash Back for other categories from core product features. Participating merchants nationwide: Petrol - Shell, Caltex and Petronas. Groceries - Giant, Tesco and AEON Big. Dining - Any spend that are made at local merchants categorized as Dining in the Merchant Category Codes. read and study the full T&Cs even if you pay RM6.1k for education fee to "unlock' the 8% cashback, it doesnt fall into Petrol/Groceries/Dining categories but falls under "Other Categories" which is 0.3% cashback. |
