Hi guys ... hope someone can help me with my situation here ... I currently travel alot for work .. around the world and I use quite alot of credit card ... anyway so far I only have 1 credit card ...

On my last trip, my credit card failed and luckily I had enough cash ... which got me worried and I think i definately need more than 1 credit card ... I currently having a VISA card ..

My question to you guys is .. should my 2nd card be a MASTERCARD ? Or should I stick to VISA ? I have a mixed feeling coz I thought it might be good to have both ... but most of the time I only see VISA .. so I'm worried if suddenly my VISA fails and then my MASTERCARD is not accepted ...

Should I get MASTERCARD or VISA as my 2nd card ? My 1st card is VISA.

In general, is Mastercard accepted as much as Visa ?

Actually it's my 1st time hearing about amex ... haha paiseh .. M2 card means both AMEX and MASTERCARD in one card izzit ?? Dun wry about the KLIA part .. i oredi have gold card for SIA .. hehe

Thanks everyone for the reply .. now the reason my card failed was probably way too much was capped in 1 single day ... I don't know if you guys know but in the US, the way they "get the money" is very weird ... Say if you check in to a hotel, they will ask for your credit card and usually they will just "hold" a certain amount right ? It's the same here too ... but when you check out, you need to swipe it again and sign then only the money get's deducted right ? But in the US no. Your money just get deducted AUTOMATICALLY You only sign the thing when you check in, which is quite scary.

So I knew about this coz it's my 3rd time to US now .. I've told the bank to increase my limit to 15k which is supposed to be more than enough .. So 1st day i reach here, i swipe for car rental which cost maybe 8k or something .. then straight i drive to hotel and swipe again which cost maybe like 5k .. then it failed to go through ...

Since it's a sub card from my dad, i got him to call the bank and blablabla say this cannot that cannot .. in the end we had to do advance payment, cash into the bank and it takes 4 days =.= Luckily I have cash with me .. so i mean if this was my own personal card and i do not have cash .. i think i would have died here ...

So i guess an extra card will do good

I guess .. but I was very sure to already increase the limit to 15k .. they also confirm .. I told them before I come that hotel abc is gonna deduct xxx ammount and car rental xyz is going to deduct xxx amount .. because I don't want unauthorized transaction ... so why doesn't it work ?
