At this rate people withdraw via BI and over counter. Why not just allow us to withdraw like last time? Why put so many hurdles?

ptptn is not a bank mah

sspn (supposedly) to be your long-term, forced-savings for your children

however, sspn usage & behavior already shifted, which i suppose ptptn couldnt/wouldnt want to deal with biggrin.gif

1) many fund in > many fund out ... disrupting their system/accounting, as nett available fund is not reflective of the initial actual fund in
2) disruption for their fund to earn $$ in longer term

They dug their hole and it's impossible to fix it. If the government stop the relief, it would trigger a bank run or worst nobody puts money into sspn.

should be after EPF's announcement.

Maybe the SSPN funds goes to EPF for investment purposes... if EPF gets 6%, SSPN pays 4%, earn 2%

I cannot confirm it, but most likely they will lent you the balance of the 50k.
If the course fees is 60k, they will only lent you 10k.

Just my guess while waiting for real experienced responses

But i put the money in there not for education fund purpose is just to earn dividen and tax relief.

If they approve the loan amount according to money balance in the sspn account then die lor...

the money is also my emergency fund if anything happen i need money urgently i will take out.

I want my kid to get the loan and study hard as they will need to pay it back their own (NOT using parents money for study)

You put in sspn you get 4% pa dividend
You get student loan from ptptn, you pay only 1% ( I think I read previously)
Ptptn losses 3% for each dollar you did not take out but get loan?

PTPTN has many mouths to feed, definitely many students who have less resources than your family and need the loan more.

However I think you need not worry, as from my experience the loan amount is based on your income, not your SSPN savings. If your household income is b40 then only can get 100%. M40 75%, T20 50% (roughly).

Over the years you "earned" money from these funds already in the form of income tax deduction and dividend, but now don't want to pay for your own kid's edu...

My child is studying in IPTA with fees of 1300/semester but the ptptn loan is 3k/semester. We have 3 sspn-prime accounts parents+child with total balances of 5 figures few years ago. Since i no longer have taxable income i keep balances at minimum using it for "washing". So i dont think ptptn refer to sspn in deciding the loan amount.

my experience same, amount of PTPTN loan independent of your savings in SSPN
i got 2 kids with PTPTN loans, amount given depends on house hold income reported and
course fees.
