back calculated to be 4.25%. not bad...  rolleyes.gif

you got dividend dated for 1.1.2014?

I checked mine still nothing. So far only got RM85 dated 1.1.2013 for RM3000 placed on 17.4.2012 - about 4.2%pa.

I topped up on 18.12.2013 to max out tax deduction.

Was expecting to see dividend on 1.1.2014 but none till todate.

Yes sure, must do it for tax purpose.

Today is only 17 Dec still got another 10 days to go before we go deposit in SSPN right?

What is the max amount for tax deduction for 2014? Is it still the same at RM6k?

i thought i have missed the promotion free gift for 2016 top up so late into year end.

deposited RM6000 at PTPTN seberang jaya branch,(look for that nice guy Hafizi) still got goodies, umbrella, coin box, tupper ware and tumbler, and a hamper. currently out of stock, told me to collect hamper on Saturday at Mydin Mall where there will be promotional fare.

Forgot to ask the PTPTN guy just now.. may be you guys know can help.

Say my son already have sspn-i account with me and i claim max RM6000 tax purpose. Can my wife open another sspn i account with that same son and she deposit another 6k to claim tax for her own?

that will mean that kid will have 2 sspn-i accounts one with dad and another with mom? is it allowed?

thanks for any feedback.

Dear Sir,

I refer to above Air Asia/ Big Pay campaign for depositor to SSPN-i

https://www.ptptn.gov.my/images/fail/promos...ercuma_2018.pdf

I deposited RM5900 using my BIG PAY on 24.12.2018 for above campaign

I have only received the normal BIG point of 295 on 28.12.2018.

Terms and conditions say I should get additional 6X per RM20, after 45 days.

Can you please check when can i get the additional points?

Thank you,

QUOTE(red_sweat @ Aug 11 2019, 05:53 PM)
Hi sifus,

I tried the method of Dec deposit in, Jan cash out method over the years, until one point of time, i need to reset at particular year, in this case, this year 2019, by not depositing any amount. And next year only restart the net deposit of RM8k.

I have a question, the "Net deposit" here is only applicable for "per account"? or "per account holder"?
Reason I asked this is that, i have second son I haven't opened the SSPN-i account to him. Let say the "Net deposit" here is only applicable for "per account", then my first son's SSPN-i account, after doing the reset this year by not depositing amount to the account, so no Tax Rebate for this. But if I open SSPN-i account for my second son and deposit RM8k this year, can consider as net deposit of RM8k if the net deposit is per account?
If the net deposit is per account holder, then i withdraw one son's account and move to another son's account has no effect.
Can anyone confirm this? Please shed some lights here, thanks.
*
this game of deposit and withdraw can reset??? i thought the moment you withdrew money it will be forever recorded.

So if 2018 you are minus RM30k (nett Deposit-withdraw=Minus RM30k), to claim RM8k tax in 2019 you must put back RM38k.

I dont think you put RM0k in 2019 and then put RM8k in 2020 already can claim tax , because effectively your account still minus RM30k in 2020.

hope i am wrong as i also play that game and my minus is >RM100k now, if can reset untung lah

In 2018 I withdraw 8k from my daugther account and deposit 8k into my son account. I get 0 tax relief not knowing it's a combined statement at the end of the year.

Because this year theres no withdrawal from my daugther account so its actually possible

Deposit 8k 2019
Withdraw 8k 2020 no tax relief
Deposit 8k 2021
*
Reset in your example, the money run from SSPN accounts may not be obvious

2018 Acc 1 =Dep RM8k, Acc 2=WD RM8k ------>Nett Deposit 0 , no tax relief
2019 no WD, Deposit RM8k ----->Tax relief RM8k
2020 WD RM8k, no deposit ----> No tax relief
2021 Deposit RM8k---------> want to claim tax relief RM8k

Consider below scenario.

Brought forward balance RM50k
2018 Dec =Deposit RM8k , Balance =RM58k ------>claim tax relief RM8k

2019 Jan withdraw RM58k,
2019 Dec Deposit back RM66k ------------->claim tax relief RM8k

2020 Jan withdraw all RM66k, no deposit -----------> 0 Tax relief

2021 Deposit back RM8k only -------->can claim tax relief RM8k?

still i think not worth sacrifice 1 year tax relief
just to avoid putting back the money.

Yup not worth it.

If I know about the combined statement last year, I would have put in the amount of money required for the tax relief.

The method of depositing during year end time and withdrawal next Jan or Feb its kind of wasting my time so didnt do it this year.

Just dump in 8k every Jan and repeat next year.

just checked i took out RM32k in Jan 2019, it seems " i did not touch" the Dividend RM171.90.
later made many deposits hard to go add them all.

QUOTE(LostAndFound @ Nov 16 2019, 01:55 PM)
Yes your friend is right. The previously posted calculation is one way, the other way is like this:-

Amount you need to topup = Current balance - Opening balance + dividend given at start of year + RM8000

The other way to think about it is that by 31st December you should have this amount inside your account:-

End-year balance = Opening balance + dividend given + RM8000
*
it seems the opening balance did not include current/2019 dividend, as you can see in my case.

so is the amount RM33968.60 still correct?
or must add that RM171.90 ?

I assume you have a better vehicle to gain > 4%. That’s the reason you withdrew a big sum in Jan. Can you share what investment you have done?
*
i dont leave money in SSPN, is only for tax relief.
If you want passive return >4% must look out for good FD promotion, highest in hand now BR 4.85% til 2023
if dare take risk buy Bonds,Tropicana Bond 7%
FSm UTs also can get 5+%, Amanah Saham also
Properties even 8-12% if you go for Lelong houses
SSPN dividend is <4%.

QUOTE(MUM @ Nov 16 2019, 05:18 PM)
hmm.gif try use the baki on the 1/1 + the dividend on the 1/1 + all you input in 2019 - yr out put of 32k?
is the number tally as RM 6,260.58?
*
I have too many ins and outs that i cant do above suggestion.

but i finally realised that i must add back that dividend RM171.90
as it is included in the RM6260.58.

So the amount for me to deposit by 31.12.19 is RM33968.60 + 171.90
to get exactly NETT RM8k.

Thanks for all those who try to help.

You have withdrawn (32,229.18 + 171.90) - 6,260.58 = 26,140.50.

So you have to deposit (26,140.50 + 8,000) = 34,140.50 by 31/12/19.

I mean where did you keep or invest the amount RM26,140.50 for these few months? For example, FD, shares, etc.
*
Yes your calculation is perfect thumbsup.gif

You asked exactly where that RM26140.50 went to, that is a very difficult Q as i rolled the money around, perhaps i used it to pay creditcards then and use my creditcard allocation to invest somewhere......FYI i withdrew much more that that amount, many times

T&C applied. Yes, get 1% for the deposit amount that you deposit during the campaign period.
For instance, I deposited RM8K on 28 Feb 2019 (last year), I got 'free' RM40 (0.5% bonus only last year) deposited into my account on 21 Jun 2019 (about 2 months after end of the campaign period).

T&C:-

Ganjaran Kesetiaan SSPN-i 2020
05 Februari 2020

hmmm but the statement does not seemed so leh...JUMLAH GANJARAN means REWARD AMOUNT not DEPOSIT AMOUNT

Maksimum jumlah Ganjaran Kesetiaan adalah RM8,000 untuk setiap akaun.

So last year's calculation is RM8k get RM40? Is it because you just deposit max RM8k which is why you think the reward is max rm40? Anyone can verify on this? anyone get more than rm40?   notworthy.gif
*
Ganjaran kesetiaan 1% on topup from 5.2.2020 -30.4.2020 ie very good

So if one person has 3 kids (3 different sspn i , but same depositor IC)
then each account put RM8000 can get total RM80 x3??

Luckily i notice this before i go withdraw money from my kids sspni,
i just withdrew sspn i money on 3.2.2020 phew...

so max can only get 1% on RM8000 = RM80 per account
and no withdrawal from 5.2.20-30.4.2020

That's why doesn't make sense.

Anyway how you going to get 5 accounts? Unlike the misguided post above me says, it's counted by account holder. So if you open one account for each of your 5 kids you only get 1 reward (at whatever the cap is).

The only way is for you and wife to each open an account for kids. So 5 accounts needs 5 adults. Not 5 kids.
