I think this is a localised issue A word of advise to you ASUSmy
Either you are one of the good guys and roped in some biggie that can take affirmative action (none of the " Will inform the top Guys and waiting for reply" stuff)
or this will go international with the main company getting the heat and subsequently gonna breath down the necks of the local representatives
because it seems to me, the angle right now is some breach of conduct on the Asus RC side which is just plain wrong

Guess because they're taking the easy way out? Asus reputation is not going down the drain due to the Asus ROG arm, which have loads of fans here in MY. time to fire the distributor.

I would prefer EVGA any day It's just that they don't have P67 boards in our market now.

Craps another fraud case happen to bro thaisxs this time. Well at least i m not alone with this. i think it is not an isolated case already since it will happen to all of u dear ASSus buyers. Enuf of this f*cking investigation and pls take immediate action by refunding as per agreement. I bet all B3 board sold in the market is actually a well used B2 board, resoldered chipset and failed QC checking then return to buyers without shitting care about the condition of the replacement board. No pre-test, bent pins and scratches everywhere just waiting to be declared as DOA.

Looks bad, should at least polish out the oily stain. Refund hv to go thru Asus directly, my seller wont refund me unless i buttseck him. Worse thing is i hv to settle all by by postage and tele-conv method, not COD face to face. I was given a contact number claimed to be someone who will take care of the refund thingy. Duno who the hell is this by the name of David @ 016-2108249
There's one more thing i would like to share with u guys. Another design flaw which will happen to ASSus boards particularly Maximus IV Extreme is its bios chip will FAIL after few months. Suspect to be the Management Engine part inside the chip is damaged and wont let u adjust BCLK anymore after some times. Tell me how do i clock my RAM at 2200MHz? U will hv to find a new bios chip to replace or reflash EEPROM to the darn chip.

As to how the distributor manages the RMA, it is up to them. I am not sure if it is ASUS that is screwing up in this case or our local distributor.

QUOTE(DarkNite @ Apr 12 2011, 04:47 PM) Like that means AssUs has no control over the quality of service towards the end user on RMA issues? It depends on the arrangement/policy between the manufacturer and the distributor. Normally it's the distributor that makes the call but it can be different for certain brands. The manufacturer does not deal with end users directly and is impossible to interfere with every single situation. EVGA is one of the company that offers direct end user support. There are so many countries carrying ASUS products in the world so it doesn't make sense that ASUS will have to take care directly of all problems that happens in these countries so they rely on their partner (distributor). Reading about the swapping issues that you all are having from Asus reminds me of my RMA with them. I have seriously gave up home on Asus. Yes, they used to be my first choice when it comes to motherboard, even though, I still end up burning them, they survived long enough...until the dreaded experience I have with them at the end.
My last board died on me for no apparent reason. PC technicians suspect it to be burnt but could not find any symptoms (swelled capacitors or burn marks). The board just would not start up, so I sent it for RMA. Took me 1 month+ before I got a replacement. Now the show stars. They told me it was new, however, one look at it and you can confirm it wasn't. The back panel (not the plate) of the USB cover were a bit rusty. There are plenty of bent pins. It came in a dirty packaging bag. Heck, there was a sticker which is almost coming off stuck to it just to tell me it was my model. Argued but could not do anything, so had to accept the "new" board. 1 week later, the replacement board died on me. Went back for a 2nd RMA, with some not so nice comments. Waited for 3 weeks and they gave me a brand new board, minus the box and accessories, but at least this time, it looks new and the packging seems to be new too.
That wasn't the end of it. A few months down the road, my Asus graphic card died. Suspected to be due to the faulty board. Since it was still under warranty, I went through the RMA process again. Waited for almost 2 months, and they told me my graphic card was obsolete and did not have any spare parts so they made some repairs instead. Collected my card and the next "best" thing you can ever imagine happened. It died after using for one hour. Went back the 2nd day, with lots of not that nice comments for my 2nd double claim in less than a year. Waited for 2 weeks+ and they swapped my card with an upgraded version (from 680 to 780). Not a new one but at least a working one.
All these experiences coupled with the one my friends had with Asus (also double claiming in RMA) have led me to lost hope completely with Asus. My advice to Asus, buck up or lose ALL your customers. Quality has not been as rock solid as it was. For warranties, if you wish to offer 3 years, by all means please keep the spare parts for 3 years or more !!!

For someone that RMA's almost 90% of his/her hardwares and ends up crying for not getting a replacement, I suggest him/her to stop buying high end stuffs or live with cheaper brands. STFU and stop acting godly if you cannot afford to play the game. No money? Go Asrock Don't whine here, please go to the tribunal or do something useful. Shouting out loud here DOES NOT resolve anything. Even people that claims warranty for their RM300-400K car doesn't cry like this guy. This post has been edited by clawhammer: Apr 12 2011, 05:10 PM
