Actually we already practice the same policy. It's being adopted by every principal.
Let me add that notice in the thread.
*
Sound to me that you are just another bureaucratic bot worker.
MSI not practice the same policy, they are better then the policy!

And what the point of saying 'try to help' when it should be 'will help' and not 'try'?
I do hope to hear good new from Mr.Lonely about his AssUs mobo problem, so that we all can start to believe in AssUs again.

Thanks for the update. Hope you have a happy ending to tell us.
These days can't rely on brand anymore. I only support brand if got good service but if they start to give lousy service or quality I chop also, no matter how good the brand is!

ASUSmy has responded to me thru PM.
Promised will open an INVESTIGATION on origin of the problem?  doh.gif
Today cannot settle... fingers crossed...

*
Why promised open investigation? That is their problem. They should just give you a new box now.
No matter wat is the outcome of their investigation, they still have to give you a new box. Why make you wait some more and create more negative PR? Cheap just to give new box.

Because a system is in place to cater to the mass population. If we were to disrupt that flow of procedure, it will mess up a lot of things and most probably slow everything down even more since we need to service a lot of customers/dealers/distributors. It is therefore important to investigate the origins of the problem and resolve it to ensure that in future, end users like yourself don't suffer the same predicament. Hope you understand where I'm coming from.

Sound like some bureaucratic BS in view of thaisxs issue

... As for the board replacement, there isn't a clause that specifically says it must be BRAND NEW. Perhaps that's the reason why they gave a refurbished one with B3? ...
*
So it is official that AssUs will only be giving refurbished whenever possible for this B3 problem?

ASUS says they will replace but they never say it MUST be brand new. That's why from the legal point of view, they have adhered to their promise to replace. As to whether a new board can be given, that can be discussed I'm sure smile.gif even if other brands were to recall those B2 boards, they will still refurbish and sell them out again. How they do it, I don't know but it doesn't make sense to dispose the whole board because of a chip plus it's something that can be swapped.

When we RMA, the returned product might also be refurbished smile.gif it doesn't always mean we get something new.
*
Are you the official Asus point person on this issue? If not better not say anything more or speculate further on their behalf.

I'm not from ASUS but knowing top people from organizations would help me understand things better smile.gif That's besides the point but I can tell you what I'm saying is how things work. Believe it or not, it's your choice.
*
Thanks for tell us how things work. Currently things are not working right for Asus as far as the concern of end user that is suffering here.
And you telling us asus Malaysia is relinquish their responsibility of RMA to their distro and give refurbished mobo for the swap?
QUOTE(clawhammer @ Apr 12 2011, 04:37 PM)
Normally how it works is the manufacturer will deal with the distributor. As to how the distributor manages the RMA, it is up to them. I am not sure if it is ASUS that is screwing up in this case or our local distributor.
*
This seems to be contradictory to what is said in their 'Proactively responding to the Intel-identified Sandy Bridge chipset design error' notice.
So with your 'insider' knowledge, can we take it that notice was made without any sincerity?

DarkNite, Asus rep has clarified and you guys can check with him to get a brand new board since it's now possible smile.gif there's no contradiction but sometimes a single sentence can have different understanding. Everyone is trying to help smile.gif
*
Damage already done. You have already sown the seed of Asus's insincerity with your 'inside knowledge'.
It remains in these few days whether what was said in post below will actually happen, how fast and how hassle-free?
QUOTE(ASUSmy @ Apr 12 2011, 07:11 PM)
Hi everyone, I have confirmed several details with top level management and let me clarify this before everyone starts biting each others heads off. tongue.gif
1) The protocol for doing a B3 swap is to pass ONLY your motherboard to the dealer for a brand new board. DO NOT include your box + accessories.

2) All boards that are swapped will be replaced by BRAND NEW motherboards WITHOUT box + accessories.

3) If you want to do a sales return a.k.a. refund, this can be done on the spot with the dealer. However, the method of refund and transaction type solely depends on the dealer.
I will add this to the beginning of this thread. If you have any more questions, feel free to PM me. And I promise you that I will make an effort to help you out.

anyway, although i'm not a seller but what I do understand from my fren who works in ASUS MY is if you got any old Sandy Bridge board, just sent it back to your dealer to claim for a B3 version. I just got mine back although it took me 3 days to wait. Mine was P8H67-M LE

Cheer up bro  rclxm9.gif , there's no need for this hoo haa over here which doesn't benefit either you or me (reader) icon_rolleyes.gif , let ASUS MY do the job as I do pity my fren too, hehe thumbup.gif

I do believe this can be settled personally irrespective to any brands or manufacturers involved. Once again, cheers...

Hi DarkNite, finally got the info you wanted and it's the Sigma Designs 8655 BU. But other O!Play models are currently using the Realtek chipset so the Gallery is the only one with this chipset at the moment.
*

Many thanks for the info. thumbup.gif
