bro i can feel ur pain.

the b2 5% rate is not true. i think is more than 50 %. im using 8 of the port . 4 of the sata 2 port degraded n die off after 1 n half month.

i've been sending email to asus support until they agree they will send me a new board to pickup at Penang Royal club without having me to go back to the vendor/distributor.

after seeing ur case im gonna open n exam all the parts at royal club b4 bringing it back.

anyway hope u can get everything back.

I am pretty sure that this is my old B2 board from this TIM residue I purposely left before sending for swap.

The question is "Is this the so-called one to one swap"? it took exactly 3 weeks and not even a brand new board!!!  doh.gif  doh.gif  doh.gif

Hi bro
i just came back from Asus RC with full of disappointment.
what i received is totally the same package with you.

They gave me an "almost" empty accessories box which contain 1 back plate 1 ,bluetooth module and a 3 way SLI bridge cable
while i b4 that i've contacted Asus support and they told me to send in everything including cables etc .
so i trade tons of accessories for 3 things ? c below reply from Asus_Support01@asus.com

I asked the engineer on duty if he can confirm that this is a B3 board because there's no b3 sticker on the box itself and the manufacturing date in January he said he dunno and ask me to go back and check myself and said this is the only board they receive from Asus HQ n ask me to sign the receipt.
If i dont check the package on the spot i probably already naik kereta or actually we already naik kereta. icon_rolleyes.gif
And this is straight from Asus not through distributor or 3rd party.

Hi KC

Appreciate your support on this !

I do have a few question
1. You mean 6th / 7th of April or 13th /14th of April
2. Do I need to return in full package ?
3. Including all the cables and etc ?

Craps another fraud case happen to bro thaisxs this time.
Well at least i m not alone with this. i think it is not an isolated case already since it will happen to all of u dear ASSus buyers.
Enuf of this f*cking investigation and pls take immediate action by refunding as per agreement.
I bet all B3 board sold in the market is actually a well used B2 board, resoldered chipset and failed QC checking then return to buyers without shitting care about the condition of the replacement board. No pre-test, bent pins and scratches everywhere just waiting to be declared as DOA.
*
i can almost certain that the board is some failed qc check or DOA board being return by buyers.

but 1 thing im not sure is the stain on the chip is the left over from asus engineer after having their happy moment

btw bro owikh84 the refund have to deal with vendor or have to go through asus again ?

Looks bad, should at least polish out the oily stain.
Refund hv to go thru Asus directly, my seller wont refund me unless i buttseck him. Worse thing is i hv to settle all by by postage and tele-conv method, not COD face to face. I was given a contact number claimed to be someone who will take care of the refund thingy. Duno who the hell is this by the name of David @ 016-2108249
There's one more thing i would like to share with u guys.
Another design flaw which will happen to ASSus boards particularly Maximus IV Extreme is its bios chip will FAIL after few months. Suspect to be the Management Engine part inside the chip is damaged and wont let u adjust BCLK anymore after some times. Tell me how do i clock my RAM at 2200MHz?  doh.gif
U will hv to find a new bios chip to replace or reflash EEPROM to the darn chip.

*
they told me i gotta deal with dealer directly and i just drop yongkeen a msg on this. meh which is which .. i hope yongkeen wont buttseck me hahaha

talking bout RMA .. i send a faulty dominator GT back for warranty and Corsair return me everything new. Yes all new. including airflow which i has been using for like 2 weeks.

It's not your fault sir smile.gif Unfortunately it's some that kills 90% of his hardware and being a cry baby because he can't get a new board. Now he is referring to XS so it seems that XS forummers represent all ASUS owners worldwide. If 10 people in XS says cow milk is good for reproduction, he will buy that because XS is all he knows.
*
the problem is should we accept the cacat board being returned from asus with missing accessories and etc.
is not im being pu$$y but what they promised and what i get is different. apart from the chipset problem my old board is more "lengzai" than the board i just swap back.

no offense to any1.

perhaps Asus laugh.gif LoL

I understand but it might the distributor that's not doing it right here and not ASUS? I'm just sharing my thoughts and that is how distribution works. Obviously if the condition is not acceptable, you guys should just walk in to the distributor, let them know what's missing and expected then ask if that can be done. Email ASUS TW directly and ask them why is the replacement in such a way.

Bottom line is we want to resolve problems smile.gif I'm with you here boss.
*
mine is not from distributor but is straightly from asus support i mean i didnt claim it through distributor. what i do is to call asus support and they said they will send the board to me. at 1st they insist me to go through -> vendor (yoongkeen) -> distributor but at last they agree that i can pick up directly from RC and thats how i get the board

I don't RMA hardwares often but my past experience with XFX (Kaira Technology) is just as bad smile.gif It happens everywhere but I think you just need to let them know your concerns. If that's the case then why not you tell them what's missing and what's expected to see if they can deliver what's requested? It is also better to speak with them rather than email.
*
i told them what is missing and the concern when i inspect the board but they said this is the only board they got doh.gif and ask me to sign on the collection receipt.
anyway i'll send this escalation Asus Taiwan or whatever Asus we have here. icon_question.gif

I think this is less likely to happen in US and the guai loh will sue their butt to court if they receive this kind of customer service. laugh.gif

For good reasons let's dont talk too much rubbish here when we're right discussing about B3 swapping pragram. RMA way goes to RMA way. That's it. U r not my opponent at all means.

*
I guess you and i receive the same offer laugh.gif

is any Maximus IV user facing the same problem that i have below

i put 2 hdd under Marvell Sata 6gbps and these 2 drives always gone missing from time to time and when i tried to move a big file from this hdd to another hdd (non marvel sata) it will stuck and the drive become unrecognised.

both hdd is healthy i swap the hdd to Intel Controller Sata 2/3 and it can copy run diskcheck without having any problem.

i've swapped new sata cable but still the same on Marvel sata port.

Bios version is 1204. hope any1 can shed me some lights. i dont wish to swap board again...
