Recommend thicker material 1.2-1.5mm for durability and sound reduction. Thin SS sink can be noisy.
If seldom use 1.0mm still OK lah.
Those FOC developer rm50-type sink are thin material, easily dented.

Conversion of gauge to mm

1mm is fairly standard thickness for sinks. It is ok. Thickness does not 100% determining the noisiness of the sink. It is more on the insulating and sound damping materials attached to the bottom of the sink.

If you plan to buy European brand fixtures, I suggest you buy from Amazon.de. Almost 50% cheaper than discounted price here if you buy in larger quantity (more than 3 items). For example, my Grohe faucet costed me additional RM230 only (on top of other items I bought), when it is selling here for RM999. If I buy only the faucet, probably around RM650 including shipping and taxes, still cheaper than RM999.

Anyone purchased sink or faucet from amazon.de lately? The final price(with import fees deposit) during checkout is not the final price with malaysia tax included, right?
How many % of tax will be charged by malaysia kastam(I saw from JKDM page is 15+10% for kitchen sink, is it true? rclxub.gif)

Because I plan to purchase the grohe shower set from there then noticed the price with the blanco sink are quite attractive.
Price for the metra9 sink is roughly RM1500 with shipping included. But I'm not sure is it worthy to get with the import tax included. sweat.gif

If they already charged you import fees deposit, then the price would be final. If the tax charged by local custom is higher than that, Amazon will absorb the excess. If no import fees deposit collected, then you have to pay the custom charges yourself.

I recently purchased few items from Amazon.de recently, with the most expensive item priced at RM1400 (total package was around RM1900) and no import fees collected. I was anxious waiting for the shipment fearing that custom will tax me. In the end DHL sent the item with no tax collected sweat.gif

The other purchase was around RM1200 in total, and no tax collected.

One more purchase was around RM900 from Amazon.com, and no tax collected as well.

All above purchase were in Feb-March 21. I guess everything depends on your luck. But then, if import fees deposit collected, you don’t have to worry at all.

Thank you so much! Amazon didn't collect import deposit for all your purchases above? rclxm9.gif

There are mainly 4 types of sink popular in malaysia
1) Regular Stainless Steel
2) Nano coated
3) Granite
4) Fire clay/ceramic farmhouse sink

If u need more info about which 1 is ezier to clean, which 1 is more pratical or etc etc, will compare them here

Kitchen Sink in general

1) Maintenance

2) Noise

Hi, does anyone can recommend me S/S sink double bowl with a budget like 600? There’s too many choices in Shopee and most doesn’t list out the details (like thickness etc)
Appreciate if anyone bought good S/S sink can share their experience

Actually that is a pretty good budget for a decent SS sink already (one that doesn't rust).

Beyond the shape and size,
Thickness and sink depth (in relation to your countertop height) is also important consideration (too deep and you might have to bend over, too shallow may not allow enough clearance).

Can look see here for an idea what you can get for ~600.

After you have a rough idea (shortlist) of what you want, ask @zheilwane kasi recommendation also smile.gif

Thank you! I think the one u recommended me Cabana 860mm suits me well.
On a side note, is black S/S sink has issue over the long run? (like peeling) I would prefer a black sink but only if it lasts.
@zheilwane can you maybe recommend me a sink faucet package? (at least 800mm sink with 230mm depth , pull out faucet)

nano sink wont peel but sure scratch depending on how u jaga the sink only, once scratch u will c the silver or original stainless steel colour, so not nice lo.

i usually suggest nano sink for dry kitchen not for heavy use. Many sellers demo like scratch proof and also some seller sell 201 grade steel but claim 304 grade. So how to differentiate? too cheap to be true confirm 201 grade, then touch the surface of the nano coat, some rough some smooth, smooth 1 usually last longer. For Nano Sink, i have many suppliers but mainly i sell HUN more as i feel their coating is smoothest.

Usually we would only know whether a product is good or not after using, so honestly i never use before but from questioning several suppliers, i get a clearer and more accurate answer that regular consumer cant get smile.gif

Also beware of prices too low to be true also, could be "B" Grade stock. Some of our suppliers for example Cabana or Sorento, sometimes got defect stock such as minor dent or scratches, we will reject back to them, so example production 1000 units, 5% defect rate got 50 units for just 1 model. If got 10 models then got 500 sinks, impossible they throw it away right. So they will sell cheaper to some online Seller and they sell below market price.

Anyone knows if the rm40 sink in Shopee is usable for daily standard ?

If yes, between the two sinks here which one would you choose and why ?

Note the lack of mentioning "stainless steel".
It may rust just by looking at it.
