Blanco Dalago series

You can get Blanco at several places. Even Signature Kitchen carries them. I got mine recently for my new house at Top Idea (Jalan Ipoh) and they have branches elsewhere too. Their price during promotion like Homedec is good.

My current house has Blanco Metra 9 and Subline. We are so happy with Metra 9 that we bought the same for the new house.

Anyone using granite sink?

I think it is about 1.8 to 1.9k individually but I got it together with a fancy Grohe tap as bundled deal. In addition I got it in Homedec earlier this year and wifey kept all the receipts 🤣

I have white subline and grey (may be anthracite) metra 9. The white in dry kitchen and metra 9 in wet. There are some minor stain for the white and metra 9 is still looking like new. My advice is getting darker colored granite sink unless your decoration must have white one.

Lol. Coincidentally my new wet will be grey sink pair with white Silestone quartz 😊. On the other hand My stainless steel Kraus sink and Hansgrohe tap for new dry kitchen were imported from US. Yes you can get good deals from Amazon. Mine is a bit different and I paid a little more getting from U Buy 😊

I wanted specific model. It just happened u buy got discount on that one. The trick is just search every sites and get best deal. I bought a lot of Amazon btw including frisbees, electronic stuff and 34 volumes Dictionary of Arts - perhaps the only set in Malaysia 🤣

You have white quartz. Your stainless steel option is not bad but definitely the black option is much better. If the difference is less than 5-10% I think you should go with the later.

Renovation is about minimize the compromise.

If u can wait then see if you can Blanco at better price in the coming Christmas or Home Expo sale. I remember Blanco Metra 9 was about RM1800-2000. It is still out of your budget unfortunately but you are talking about long term buy and the extra RM500 is worth it if you can move some fund from other items.

If u don't mind ss, there should be plenty more choices around. I bought a Kraus from US for my seldom used dry kitchen. It has thicker gauge and much better sound damping but it still scratches. It is good but my advice is don't pay too much premium for it. It is also made in China anyway (under strict quality control though).

You can consider Teka (at least those made in Europe), Franke, etc. Kohler I think is over your budget.

You don’t need to match brand for tap and sink. I use mainly Grohe and Hansgrohe for faucets. Blanco is not known to be a great faucet manufacturer.

Most important is that the two work well as a unit.

Lol. For big size people like me (179cm) it is hard to squeeze under the counter/sink to unscrew and rescrew the soap bottle. My advice: get smaller people to do it! Example your kids or wife! 😬

I'll be moving on to countertops next. Quartz, marble, Kompacplus, Dekton, etc. Why lah so many choices?

We are screwed in MY. In US, Silestone and Dekton price ranges are similar and overlapping.

You can approach Cosentino to see the products and get them to recommend reasonably good installer. I don’t think they do installations themselves but I could be wrong.

Almost all reasonable big ones like Signature Kitchen, Unity can do them. But they tend to be more pricey. Smaller installers will be cheaper but Cosentino is the one that will decide which of its products will be on sale. Typically older ranges are cheaper. Those newer N Boost models will be expensive.

For kitchen mixer tap -  pull down spray, which brand is ok? Kraus, grohe, hansgrohe? Budget around 1k

On sale, at amazon can get kraus around 1.2k include delivery. That’s why i’m considering kraus..

Not very wise as you may accidentally mix drinking water with normal tap water. In addition if the final part of the tap "shares" the same outlet, part of your tap water may be trapped inside the tap before you switch to drinking water. I know Malaysian tap water can be consumed directly (theoretically) but keeping a separate water filter outlet is a cleaner solution. If I have garbage disposal switch, filtered water tap and soap dispenser and I can only install 2 of the 3 on the sink, I will take out soap dispenser since it is nice to have

Honestly, was thinking of going via this route but eventually decided against due to the factors mentioned by bro blancpain4470. I'm super lazy and will definitely not be boiling water before I use for consumption, so that method is a no go for me.

At the moment, I'm hovering between getting a combined filter/mixer tap or a separate filter tap on the counter.

Beauty is in the eye of beholder. I happen to think it is ok. Anyway I always preach function follow form/look. This is especially true for kitchen or any high traffic areas!

I have 2 faucets in my Blanco sink, one mixer for the washing and another smaller one for the filtered water (the filters are below the countertop). It's functional and I'm ok with the way it looks.
