Generally HCE better, coz of 1.2mm thickness and noise reduction pads on the underside. brows.gif
2 in 1 meaning tap and sink or "double bowl sink"?

From practical experience washing 28cm pans - a long single bowl sink (something like Ikea BOHOLMEN/NORRSJÖN 73x44 cm) might be more useful than a double bowl if you need to wash a wok/frypan.

Hi guys, thinking to purchase this below model.
https://www.twkitchenandbath.com/product/amks-654522/

Aimer brand, heard from shop they said its local brand, but its 304SUS.
I notice the thickness is 0.8, wont matter rite? While those premium 1 normally 1.2mm
The shop tell me common normal stainless steel he sell is around 200-300 those is 0.6 i not sure if there is other stainless steel grade he mean.
I notice alot brand claim its stainless steel but didnt mention its grade 304 or 316 etc.

I think SUS 304 0.8mm is quite good for budget around 3xx after discount.
I tried to google this brand but didnt get much info or review however i can find alot of people selling this with listing of 304 SUS. i finding 304SUS single bowl with 230 depth or more and budget below 600 if possible. any reputable value brand?

I think for RM500-600 there are better choices. 0.8mm material for a RM500 sink is not worth.
The problem with buying no name sink.. after a while even without using - it rust by itself just by looking at it.

Even between that FOC developer sink - by right SS should not rust from normal tap water / rain water - another diff project that I visited upon VP already the sink rusted already.  laugh.gif

This will be nice, 18/10 and 1.2mm thick - https://www.lazada.com.my/products/teka-arq...2875204518.html

This is 1.5mm 18/8 https://www.lazada.com.my/products/bareno-s...1889130726.html

This is 1.2mm 18/8 for RM499 https://www.lazada.com.my/products/mocha-mk...s972448479.html

18/8 =~ 304
18/10 =~ 316

18/10 is not approximately 316. They are different in price by a bit. There is no molybdenum in 18/10

That will identify whether it is austenitic, usually austenitic family grades are non magnetic but not all are non magnetic. Many grades of SS out there.

nope, after discount i get it around 300+ range.
Since i get from shop i can go back to them anytime as i am their frequent customer. they do have those no brand sink with stainless steel but not 304, they told me wont rust, but acidic like lemon juice etc left overnight will cause stain there while 304 SUS unlikely will have that. Since around 3xx and i dont really care i proceeded just now haha..
They gave me another choice 6xx with same size 1.2mm 304 SUS, but i am not heavy user i will just proceed with 0.8mm after read some recommendation.

The only main diff for the thickness is sound proofing when washing, those water etc and if you put a heavy thing in the sink, you will unlikely bend the connection n cause leaking.
The recommended one is around 0.8 - 0.9 up to 1.2mm thickness from what i read on the sturdyness.
While sound proof they need 1.2mm recommended, i dont care about sound anyway haha..

Those which will rust definitely not stainless steel 304, as i work in F&B 304 is our min food grade material.

Bought a blanco at Top Idea jalan Ipoh with Mr Leon for a good bargain. Thanks to sifu here for inputs. They say price will increase after 1 april, so anyone who intend to buy, maybe can buy now.

I guess this is the best place as any to ask.

Anyone here using/used Kraus kitchen mixer taps before? Is there a problem during installation i.e. different tubing size, etc.

Some decent prices on Amazon so am planning to order but a bit wary of things coming from the USA, what with them using different measuring system and what now.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Dear sifu,

I wish to buy a kitchen sink. After reading so much info about granite sink that it will lose its attractiveness by hot oil, hot wok and hot water then i started considering Nano tech sink but some told me the coating will run off eventually. Some claimed SS sink is noisy and the level of noise with scratches easily. Have anyone tried solid surface sink before? Can sifu please advise me which kitchen sink is more durable, anti scratches / cracks with lesser noise?

I didn't get kraus mixer but I bought hansgrohe from Amazon. The tubing is standard and same as ours. As long as you don't go too fancy with those sensor type they should be ok

It is incredible how much misinformation and stupidity out there. Hot oil? It won't damage a good sink whether granite or ss. But you won't want to pour hot oil into your sink because it will clog in up. Hot water? It won't damage a good sink but it may create problem for plastic joints. I have poured hot water into my sink before and add long as you don't do it frequently there is no problem.

Nobody selling so called solid surface sink. The choice is granite and SS. There are numerous discussions on this before. In the end it is down to individual preference.

Thanks buddy.

Less anxious after hearing your experience. Issue now is what colour mixer to get.
