thickness minimum is 0.8mm ( acceptable)
depends on where the sink stay on? ( solid surface? granite? worktop?)
1 piece sink is recommended. (no joining on the bottom of the sink)

Yes, Sorento is from China also. Teka is also made in china. Not sure about pyramis. Sometimes, if u cant find info in LYN, you can always google and get comments from other forum. Here is what i got, couldnt get any feedbacks about Sorento and rubine.

sorento is not new, u can see billboards along the highways, if they are new, they wouldnt have $$ to invest on billboards.
THey have wide range of products & dealers.
www.sorento.com.my

Never heard of sink made of ss316, even if u can get it, the price will be above RM 1k. Stainless steel water tanks are usually 304 grade, if u get a 316 grade tank, it is double the price of 304.

may i know what is the purpose of the coating at the bottom of the sink. some of the sink don't seal with the coating.. is't ok without it?

beware of one shop at kajang. Sorento sink model SRTKS 2029L (1 and 1/2 bowl), they claim with special promotion at RM550. they said 1.0 mm thickness, one piece sink and retail price RM950. but when i check with catalog, not 1.0mm but 0.9mm and retail price RM800. maybe someone can clear about this.. or is't different with 2029 and 2029L model...

Sorento only have one model SRTKS2029 and the list price is RM 800, thickness is 0.9mm. What a wise consumer you are aerozs, that is why i keep on stressing, there are many shops out there using hanky panky tactics to cheat consumers. Another common trick, they sell u cheap but they exclude the accessories like the Sink Waste which would cause u another RM 30 each.

Coating at the bottom, there are a few kinds. Some TORA sinks have the coating below, like powder paint. Those will come off eventually. Sorento Sinks do not have those coating as it is not required.

A normal coating is actually for cosmetic use, to prevent the sink from rust. A good sink do not require such coating.

A good coating something like rubber is to prevent water condensing at the bottom of the sink. This seldom occur if u r getting a reasonably good kitchen sink. You can check ur old sink to see whether u have this problem.

Hi All,
For under mount sink, what is a really good sealant or they call it silicone to seal the gap from water leaking from side?

secondly, saw most of the Sink Depth is about 22mm ~8.7inches. Once I saw a 10 inches depth sink. Would it be too deep until need to bend down to pick up a spoon/ folk for instance?
