I am not saying enrique is not lfc material. But it is an added bonus when players state specifically they want to come to our club.Passion is something that u cannot buy.Players like coentrao will have the passion.do u think any midfielder currently will be able to replace gerrard? eventhough he got better offers,he chose to stay at anfield.

having said that,i will still be pleased to see us buy enrique coz more money will available for a top class winger like hazard or sanchez.if we get coentrao, most prolly we'll buy young or jarvis for left wing.So its a win-win situation(thats what i m hopeful of though) there is only chance for one of hazard, sanchez and coentrao coz we need squad depth and other position.if we get two from them,i will be over the top.

Missed the game , hw's 18yo flanagan doing?

Had a very good debut. Got caught flat footed a few times but other than that, he was very composed and lively. Looked comfortable on the ball, supported the play well (without the hoofing) and worked tirelessly to track the oppositions. The commentators were saying its a disgrace that a multi million signing Balotelli couldn't be bothered to run more than 5 yards when an 18 year old was running his socks off to cover both end of the pitch.

I was thinking the same too lol. Plus, in case Enrique or Aurelio (if he stays) is injured, he can cover our LB position. icon_idea.gif

Coentrao is more accustomed to wing back or left back.He didnt do well when he was playing left wing earlier.Only after converting to a defender, his performances improved.(at least thats what i read) exact opposite of bale if u ask me.

Read that he even went in tackle with Barry. Seems fearless and the future seems bright biggrin.gif

Talking about wingers, Jova and Cole just disappeared in thin air. Heard At.Madrid want to take Jova this summer. unsure.gif

Jose vs Blackburn. I think he was fantastic in that match.

And he's not even amongst the very top youth from the Academy. We've only seen the tip of the iceberg.

I really wanna see Fernando Suso playing in the first team. I really do. For me, getting wingers will be our top priority. I wouldn't wanna change the club too much.

If it does happen though, a huge weight will be lifted off our shoulders. We don't have to keep looking behind us anymore, waiting for the day them mancs will catch up and eventually overtake us.

+1

given the hints of positives under Fenway Sports Group (FSG) & KD so far, they (manu) better be watching their backs.

Most youngster have those fearless attitude when comes in. The only thing is whether he can keep it up or disappear into fame & money influence.
I'll give wrap Jova for free if they buy from us tongue.gif

Whatever happened to Darby? He's supposed to be the 1st in line for rightback spot. Kelly suppose to be CB while Flanagan just burst into reserves not so long ago.
I'm not that optimistic, as long as there's a couple graduates each year will be great edi.

yeah i agree on this. Ive seen that happens a lot for Man utd's youngsters. Players like Nani and Anderson when they first come in, play a lot better than their 2nd season for example. After that it takes time before both of them now gets to a consistent standard. Same happens to Macheda, Johnny Evans as well (who now is on the dip of form). Heck even Ronaldo who amazed ppl in his first few games, have to work a few more season before exploding into the international limelight.

Though im not saying Flanagan will drop off form after this, im just saying if players like Kelly, Spearing and Flanagan seems to drop form after their debut season, its a normal trend and given the right training and patience without fans wanting them out, then they will get back, or even surpass the performance they put in at this moment.

He's on loan at Notts County. He, like Kelly, had been really unlucky with injuries. Darby during Rafa's time had few opportunities, was even named to start few matches but got sidelined for months due to injuries.

arsenal is next..and its away...if we can win this one, i think we can win the remaining fixtures hoping that spurs at least lost twice and draw one from their remaining games

He's same age/batch as Spearing right? Not exactly young anymore, if he cant make it here, I'd rather he move to other smaller clubs where the expectation isnt so great.
Seeing he's now behind GJ, Kelly with Flanagan & Robinson coming up, really cant see he'll make it here.

Last I read, he's out on loan. I'm as surprised as you are. Darby was captain of the ressies and I was hit with initial shock when Kelly was played ahead of him, even though he isn't a conventional fullback. Having said that I can now see why. Kelly is class!

I am really happy to see a few of the local lads breaking through.

Very good video. The first 10 seconds of the video just sums up the type of player he is. Strength to hold onto the ball, has the acceleartion to leave that Blackburn player on his arse, then a quick pass and move, and he was already in the final third, before finally drilling a low cross for an easy tap in - how Newcastle failed to score from that is beyond me.
