Just hope that they can capitalize on Spurs dropping point. But more importantly the team play more fluid.

QUOTE(cherroy @ Mar 21 2011, 05:34 PM) If Liv can string some consecutive win in the rest 8 games, even CL also possible. Am optimistic since both matches will be at home. Actually don't quite fancy Europa but if both MC & Spurs are still preoccupied with other competition & suffer loss of form then CL will be achievable though that will very dependent on the lads hitting rich vein of form as well.8 points difference to catch up. Although personally don't expect Liv to be in Europe next season, you cannot rule out until mathematically impossible. Under KD, Liv managed to get 14 points out of 18 before. Liv will be facing both Spurs and ManCity. As much as we loath or miss Torres, cant help but feel we got the better bargain of it in economical sense. Lost 1 striker but got 2 back, at least have cover when 1 is injured. The team still cant produce consistent fluid footie. Just hope we manage to grind out results till end season, then whatever will be, will be. Also have a feeling it'll be Reina turn in the summer. Have a gut feeling he'll most definitely leave, either Man U or Gunners. |

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Its difficult to fathom him donning devil's jersey but stranger things happened. If the clause in his contract is true, who is to stop him going to Man U if they table a bid that trigger the release clause? He already said it time & again he's happy but he wanna win. Sounds to me like what Torres said. Neither he rule out a move to Man U when quizzed about it few weeks ago. To me, it's obvious he'll consider their approach, no? As for Man U, I'm sure they're keeping tab on him, as are few others like Nuere, De Gea, Skeletenburg, et el. If they can get in one over us & at the same time got themselves a great gk, don't you think Sir Red Nose will explore that to rub it in? Its a great chance for them to do that considering the rumoured release clause GBP20mil isn't that high by today standard. On another note, here's Henry taking a dig at you-know-who even our owner takes a dig now & then, much less forummers actually me thinks he talked too much to justify his decision to leave which made it all more worse. QUOTE(koolspyda @ Apr 6 2011, 06:00 PM) i believe the best 'politician' in the the fooball world is fergie. Its kinda siege mentality thats being employed well by Mourinho as well. In a way, I suppose it unites the team more.he got this built into manu very well. "Us (manu) against the world". so many volitile characters/behaviour (averagely over the rest) in manu. emotions are expected but they way somehow manu players get 'more' riled up than other teams, speaks how much influence fergie has over manu players behaviours. (bar giggs, i suppose) it can be a strong trait & the arrogance is almost always dsplayed onfield. i suppose i'll be called ignorant or weird to point this up but this is only my observation. QUOTE(chenwfng @ Apr 7 2011, 11:10 AM) Just a quick question for those who been to Anfield, may I know roughly the budget for accommodation, travel and days you all spent there? I'm planning to go there but have no idea where to start. Nothing much in Liverpool really, reckon u can spend ard 2 or 3 days max there. Accommodation wise, you should be able to get decent hotel for >GBP50/day. Now the travelling by train is a bit exp, just roughly use Malaysian tix price & location but in GBP, u'll get rough figure. Nowadays tix should be ard GBP50/match depending on where you get the tix. Just get enuff $$$ to spend in the store |

QUOTE(lilredridinghood @ Apr 7 2011, 12:54 PM) quoted from wiki, bad source I know, but I read his interview during his early days in a HK basketball magazine, he mentioned AC Milan as well My memory fails me I guess....old jor Glory Hunter or no, he's a winner, not too much of a stat whore and most importantly, it's nicer to watch him play than Lebron James Not really into basketball but I guess Kobe became more modest as he becomes older. Rmb he did talk big when compared to Jordan during his early days.(hope my memory dont fails me on this) But he did have a comparable career now. As for James, he's a brash & arrogant player but hey, he earned it thru his talent. Not taking the piss but sometime James really reminds me of Torres esp when his team is losing. |

QUOTE(rushmode @ Apr 7 2011, 11:47 AM) wrong thread.. go troll chelsea thread instead.. Of cos its intended solely for marketing purpose as the main reason the shares were given to James is in exchange for his marketing right. Reckon James marketing right is the whole intend here as he is the face of NBA afterall. FSM in this case as subsidiary of FSG is afterall a business entity so for all intends & purposes, the million dollar question will always be $$$.i see the LeBron issue is nothing more than marketing strategy.. they try to penetrate the US and global market even more.. he's one of the biggest name in sports. the stake he have not big enough to have a say i reckon. As for Liverpool, whats better way to promote the club than being linked up with one of the most recognisable face in the US....well except Cleveland maybe Some reports mentioned that we're on the verge of signing sylvain Mareaux, anyone follows Ligue 1 that can tell how good is he? |

Whatever happened to Darby? He's supposed to be the 1st in line for rightback spot. Kelly suppose to be CB while Flanagan just burst into reserves not so long ago.I'm not that optimistic, as long as there's a couple graduates each year will be great edi. |

QUOTE(hfi @ Apr 12 2011, 03:14 PM) He's on loan at Notts County. He, like Kelly, had been really unlucky with injuries. Darby during Rafa's time had few opportunities, was even named to start few matches but got sidelined for months due to injuries. He's same age/batch as Spearing right? Not exactly young anymore, if he cant make it here, I'd rather he move to other smaller clubs where the expectation isnt so great. Seeing he's now behind GJ, Kelly with Flanagan & Robinson coming up, really cant see he'll make it here. |

QUOTE(madmoz @ Apr 12 2011, 07:02 PM) Insua is always willing venture forward and have a go, but he is not speedy. Seems like Maddie's still infatuated with downing Also seeing that we have the best and most likely costliest battering ram around, it seems logical that we get some proper crossers. One trick pony typical British winger with pace also can d! But again I must ask, "What about the stadium?!?" Actually I think Insua is decent enuff since tactical awareness & timing of runs can be coached. Just don't ask him to man mark during corners Ah, stadium, a delicate issue...to move or not to move To be honest I really think the owner still not decided to move or expand. Though additional income far more outweighs the tradition if they're typical bizmen. Personally me would think that maybe the need to create squad depth & stabilise the team made them think twice to start the discussion on new/expand stadium. |

QUOTE(hfi @ Apr 16 2011, 02:47 PM) Breaks my heart to see him weep. As much as i want him back and i do think he will return to us one way or the other, i dont think the time is right for his return. The wounds from the previous owners reign of terror is still fresh and we need Kenny in the helm to supervise the healing process. Unity takes precedence over football for the time being. Should Rafa comes back and we to lose several players, he will be blamed by some fans for simply being who he is. This won't happen if its Kenny in charge. Same feeling here, the timing is not right as u said. I'd prefer he go back to Spain or other places not BPL & take over when the King's reign is over, hopefully in another decade. For the time being, his best bet will be somewhere in Germany. But i have strong feelings he may end up at either Man City or Chelsea. I rather him at Man City. That club needs a nonsense manager and the players they have are mostly the type he tried to sign during his time with us. JFT96 QUOTE(hfi @ Apr 16 2011, 03:38 PM) Ah didn't know Segura has been promoted. Good move imo. In any case, i can't see Rafa coming back any time soon. To be honest, I don't even want him anywhere near the Academy, not that i don't trust his ability to coach the youth, just that the setup we have at the moment is fine. If ain't broke, don;t fix it. But I tot RB the one's who reorganize/revamp the Academy? To be honest, I think its a waste of his talent to coach the academy though being a disciplinarian, he can put the youngsters in the right path.QUOTE(aiyish @ Apr 16 2011, 03:43 PM) If rafa gets the job or not, he is already in the hall of great Liverpool managers for his contribution on and off the field. It shows that the man embrace the Liverpool way and is one with the club and the people. Aye to that. The way he represented the club when he's here show that he's one of the Reds. He's really a part of Liverpool no matter where he goes. Does GH also attend the memorial yearly, not that I know. Point is, in this kinda selfish world of pro footie, for him to be so attached to a foreign club just show what a man he is. Seriously old' mikey should've learn something from him.QUOTE(shamsul_LP @ Apr 16 2011, 04:55 PM) my 1st choice is KK..then if not him must be Rafa...i don't wnat mourinho here...he a good coach/manager but he will never understand liverpool culture! I thought both the fullbacks played very well considering their limited playing time, both 17 & 18 y.o. only played twice in BPL as of yesterday match.
Flanno had a bit of shakiness early on when the Gunners & esp Nasri kept on exploiting the right side. But credit to him that he settle down even after the caution. Robbo on the other hand really match Walcott stride for stride without him even have many chances getting more crosses in. Arsenal fans should think twice before heckling him with 'Who' since most youngsters tend to play well when thrown into fray. When they chanted that, I was thinking, they'll end up with eggs in their face which holds true when Walcott was subs, even Arshavin didn't have much joy down that flank. As for Spearing, the MOM was his just reward by playing his hearts out week in, week out. Have doubts about his attacking quality but long been opined that he could be groomed to play Masch role since positional sense can be learned. With youths graduating, our squad depths seems a little better though we still lacks attacking wise. |

To be honest, his performance this season is average at best, but its understandable since he has nil BPL experience before.Future defense ? LB - Robbo, CB - Wisdom, CB - Kelly, RB - Flanno |

QUOTE(hfi @ Apr 19 2011, 03:05 PM) That defense looks good. Wisdom is a beast, can't wait to see him play in the first team. Don't forget we have Wilson as well as a CB option. Regarding Jonjo, i think he will turn up to be more than decent player. I can't really put a finger to it but there's something special about him. There's some quality in the way he moves about; on and off the ball. Something that i feel Jay really lacks imo. Jonjo looks like a Lucas signing - albeit under the Hogdson era. oops, forgot abt Wilson. But frankly, he seems out of his depth in the few games i saw him considering the hype he received north of border. Where is he btw? wonder how come Kenny din use him either as Aurelio replacements as seen few times he played as LB or Carra replacement QUOTE(madmoz @ Apr 19 2011, 03:33 PM) Maddie, you ARE old me wonder why as well, why certain forumers cant seem to leave them alone |

I say let Juve buy another decent player at 6m. See which international can they get sitting on the bench while waiting for either good offers or Hart injured, suspended and loss form. Haven't seen Gulacsi and Jones play before. Liverpool still have Cavalleri right? maybe Cudicini would be a decent signing as back up. Cavalleri is in Italy now, Cesena if not mistaken |
