QUOTE(norazwan79 @ Feb 5 2007, 12:17 AM) Bought windows vista ultimate at viewnet today. Installed already but need to find antivirus software that compatible with vista. NOD32? Never tried b4. Im kaspersky user. Fresh installation eat 11gb of hardisk space. very hungry la windows vista. i got 5.5 in performance rating. How about others? So far install RT 2.0 and TAT. TAT ok, RT ko (no database found). I got 4.9 for my main rig below. Previously on single core AMD 64 3000+ was 4.7...only 0.2 difference. But compared to ur rig, which is so much more expensive, i think i'm qutie satisfied with 4.9 already...LOL. This post has been edited by Matrix: Feb 5 2007, 04:20 PM

5.5 or 4.9 not bad what. I'm using RC2 and my rating is 4.0 on the dot (lowest score - processor). If I overclock it from 2 to 2.27Ghz I get 4.2

QUOTE(asellus @ Jul 22 2005, 11:58 PM) When XP's name is announced, everyone comments how weird that name is. But today, we are now used with that name. It will be the same for Vista, a couple of years or so after release. Yup, agree with u, vista is quite name n nice

what are the outcomes that Vista doesnt support openGL and directsound... does that mean the older games will have degraded performance on vista?

That is correct. But there shouldn't be major drop for newer games, just a few fps less, which u won't notice. Older games will probably choke though. There's a link somewhere up there from tomshardware. Go read.

You can try to delete the hibernation file which is allocated by default unless you want to use the hibernation, that will probably save the hard disk equivalent to your RAM size.

Go beyond Vista. It's time to get a Mac. If you're thinking of upgrading to Vista, you'll probably need a new computer. Why not get a Mac? It's simpler, more secure, and way more fun. And it works with the stuff you already have, like printers and cameras. So before you upgrade anything, you owe it to yourself to check out a Mac. http://insideapple.apple.com/redir/1112358...c320e54c333f1f6------------------------------------- See all the reasons why you'll love a Mac. http://insideapple.apple.com/redir/1112358...c320e54c333f1f6Which Mac are you? http://insideapple.apple.com/redir/1112358...c320e54c333f1f6Test-drive a Mac at the Apple Store. http://insideapple.apple.com/redir/1112358...c320e54c333f1f6

You can install it on a new PC, as long as you've uninstalled (or format) vista from the existing PC, there's no such thing as "De-activate" AFAIK
