i just installed them last nite while watching england game .. so far all the software works for me except

1) counter strike 1.6 ---> i cant use opengl. only can use d3d but everytime i set resolution to widescreen got error only can use in software mode to it reset back to original.. so have to use standard ratio @ d3d.. look weird!

2) pro evolution soccer 5 ---> no sound.. damn dissapointing.

any fix for that? thx

yeah he is able to do it.. but actually it is illegal to do so

based on my seaching around the net, with retail pack u can do 10x activations before u need to activate using the phone, while for OEM, u only have 3 times.

the product key is legal only if u deactivate the activation in the other machine before u activate it to another machine. Failing to do so means u r using a illegal copy of vista just like u r using the pirated one

btw, i finished install my vista last nite. got problem coz vista said it cant install the windows to my hdd.. but problem solved afterl i set the hdd controller to RAID in bios..

installed all the common programs, microsoft office 2007, adobe acrobate 8, photoshop cs2, flash 8, dreamweaver 8, 3dmax 7, maya 8, freehand mx, opera, yahoo messenger, live messenger, winrar, vlc player.. all without problems.

games like cs 1.6 (cz 1.2), pes6, warcraft III also works great..

my only problem now is i cant install NERO coz the one i have is the older one.

i also dont have new antivirus so had to dl the kaspersky 30 days trial..

not really sure what will happen if 2 keys are detected at the same time..

anyway pendrive thumbdrive is confirmed can ready boost

i've tested

1gb PNY thumbdrive - readyboost OK

1gb, 2gb kingston data traveler I - readyboost OK

1gb Pendrive thumbdrive - readyboost OK

1gb kingston data traveler II - readyboost OK

512mb Apacer - readyboot KO

it was said that to optimize readyboost performance, we must use 1:1 , means if ram 2gb, readyboot also using 2gb memory..

in my case, it's hard to feel the difference. maybe bcoz 2gb is enuff already. but when i play game, i can feel the difference.. it runs smoother and the game loads faster eventhough it's not too significant in my case but hey... thumbdrive is damn cheap now.. so there's no harm plug it into ur pc and has it as readyboost bcoz u can also make it as portable storage. 2 in 1 (bear in mind u cant store data in ur thumbdrive while running it as readyboost)

and one more thing. physical memory for sure provides more significant performance improvement.

u can install kaspersky 6.0.2.614 .. NOD32 and Avast work well too

fyi, the readyboost is not just based on ur thumbdrive, but also based on ur usb header. with a right combination, u can use readyboost..

i had tested few thumbdrives and some need to be plugged at the usb header direct from mobo itself (at the back plate) while some is readyboost 'ready' even when i plug using front usb header (at the casing)



acrobat 7 n 8 confirm work fine

vista ultimate after the first update (8 updates) takes nearly 10gb of hdd space.
