hi guys, my girlfriends bought a dell which entitles her to upgrade to vista for free. my question is can i use her cd? or can she only use it? or can we both use it? thanks =) its windows vista basic home.

and uhm by installing vista, do i have to reformat the whole com? or just "reinstall"?

The button for it is just next to your start button...or, you can press Windows key+Tab (instead of Alt+Tab)

cant flip like 3d le... only can change windows..

on quick launch got 3d flip button

Bought windows vista ultimate at viewnet today. Installed already but need to find antivirus software that compatible with vista. NOD32? Never tried b4. Im kaspersky user.
Fresh installation eat 11gb of hardisk space. very hungry la windows vista. i got 5.5 in performance rating. How about others?
So far install RT 2.0 and TAT. TAT ok, RT ko (no database found).

Hello guys. What firewall are you guys using for Windows Vista? I noticed that many of the firewalls aren't supported by Vista. Thanks.

I think all those who want to upgrade but not sure should really try the evaluation copy first. You can get an evaluation product key from MS using your MS Live account (Hotmail, MSN etc).

After I reinstalled this on my Maxtor hard drive I actually am beginning to like Vista. It's quite stable even for an RC2 and I have no problems with it anymore (compared to when installed on my old Seagate drive which apparently is dying). Aero Glass works great and no slow downs anymore, I only have 1 GB ram and for the things I do, I cannot notice any significant slow down in general use.

I hear some issues with antivirus, my AVG free antivirus works perfectly.

So I will continue to use the RC2 till SP1 is out.

Just out of curiosity, whats the email client that ships with vista?

is it a reskinned outlook express 6? or a slimmed down vrsion of outlook 2007?

it's called Windows Mail and appears to be like an updated (and much improved) outlook express but this time with automated Junk mail capabilities. It sorts or deletes junk mail in your inbox. You can also add email adds into your black list and it will handle such mail appropriately. However, my gmail pop no longer works with it.

those who's using vista may want to give windows live onecare a try. it's a complete firewall + antivirus solution and it's definitely compatible with vista. current offer is 90-days trial...
