Hello guys,

I've come out with my very own review on Windows Vista Home Premium in Spherebox
http://spherebox.com/2007/02/01/review-mic...a-home-premium/

While the review is not as "full on" as others that you could easily find it online, it does give my own neutral and original opinions. Please feel free to give comment.

Thanks :-)

Good review rclxms.gif . But maybe you can try to elaborate more. For example, you mentioned that you encountered problem with your D-link usb wireless adapter, further description might be helpful and maybe you can also provide what you had done to rectify the problem so maybe users who may encounter similar problem might be able to solve the problem in the same way as you.

well.. readyboost can boost your vista to be smoother and faster when open a program

but how smooth and how fast it can boost?
open wlm8.1 about 1sec is consider fast?

my pc has 2gb ddr400 ram and tried the readyboost, i could not feel any obvious increase in performance
i also heard that 2gb and above.. will not show the power of readyboost as 2gb is enough for vista to run smoothly ..

i think the readyboost is to help those system with 1gb and below  to run smoother in vista??
*
Yes, that's the main point with readyboost, provide smoother interaction without the need to get more RAM, but with RAM prices as of now, I think upgrading to more RAM is a better choice.

Bought windows vista ultimate at viewnet today. Installed already but need to find antivirus software that compatible with vista. NOD32? Never tried b4. Im kaspersky user. smile.gif
Fresh installation eat 11gb of hardisk space. very hungry la windows vista. i got 5.5 in performance rating. How about others?
So far install RT 2.0 and TAT. TAT ok, RT ko (no database found). cry.gif

Mine is 4.9 also. You can try to delete the hibernation file which is allocated by default unless you want to use the hibernation, that will probably save the hard disk equivalent to your RAM size.

AFAIK, nero already rolled-out VISTA-READY version. but size is 200mb. Im downloading it now.

Btw, anyone use SuperFetch aka Readyboost? How much improvement gained?
*
I'm using Nero Lite if not mistaken. Size is way less than 200MB but I can't confirm which version yet as I'm currently in office.

Anyway Superfetch is not Readyboost. Regarding the improment, I've read comment that one guy can feel the notices by using a 4GB flash drive even when he's got 2GB of RAM.

I've not tested this feature yet as I can't seem to find my desired flash drive. biggrin.gif

Irenic with your hardware spec, do you notice any improvement at all when you use the readyboost feature? Any difference between 512MB vs 1 GB vs 2 GB?

Plan to get a flash drive for readyboost purpose tongue.gif so just want to get more opinions. biggrin.gif
