Anyone get a message from ocbc spend RM500 on 5-6 May get a chance to receive RM20 rebate?

Exactly the same experience except that I'm still at the stage which I put in bold up there. Since 17th April.
I can't take it anymore and I spoke to the CS attended to my case yesterday, he promised to give me an update next week.
I told him, "I have never experienced such a tedious process just to get my CC approved. FYI, I'm always offered by other banks for their cards, only OCBC I tried to apply and you slam me with this. In addition, if I don't fulfill te requirement, then it is my problem. Now, I fulfill the requirements yet you rejected me? Not that I have bad record with other cards' payment. I need an update by next week or I'll totally forget about this card. Enough is enough."

He apologised for my bad encounter though...

If you receive the SMS, then you are INVITED to this May Weekend special RM20 rebate. I didn't receive it

What happened? I for one dislike bad customer service (not to mention rude!).

Additional Rebate on top of the ones from the card?

As usual it's based on First Come, First Served to get the RM20 additional cash rebate (~4% rebate).

If you didn't get the SMS, don't bother spending the RM500.

By the way i don't have anything to pruchase, perhaps i should go to maxis or celcom kiosek to pay extra phone bill entire to get the 4% extra rebate.

I was referring to the SMS sent by OCBC to some of the TMC CC holder only.

OCBC will choose selected users... maybe those who don't achieve RMxx cash rebate per month.

Is that what the CS said (in bold)? If yes, I am surprised that the CS spoke to you in that manner, something you said must have triggered that tone of reply.

As you can observed in the case of fruitie, the CS rep reply and tone was appropriate when she explained her predicament and dissatisfaction.

Once a while I will get a CS at HLB who knows next to nuts, what I do is just say hang up and call again to CS and usually the next person can be of help.

As for OCBC CS, I am very happy with them so far. As for your claim that there is something wrong with OCBC system, I doubt it. According to Bloomberg, it is the strongest bank in the world for the second consecutive year!

And you know what, if you go apply the card again after "taruking" them here, the joke is on you.

So far, I feel that the OCBC CS is ok as well. No problem with OCBC so far.

As for why you met all the qualification, but you didn't get approved...
probably when you are applying, you have no credit history - you mentioned that you did not own any credit card prior applying to this card.

I'm telling this from my observation only...

CS are human too. Did you not antagonize them in your conversation with them ? What was (all) the exact conversation that you had with them ? Would you like to post every single word/line that you had with them and I could check with OCBC and compare them with the recording of your conversation with them.
In all my experience with OCBC, I did not encounter such a thing.

However, it is to note that OCBC are very strict with their customers qualifications - if myself also got rejected in the initial application with them, let alone a new applicant with no visible credit history, etc.

IMHO, so far I'm satisfied with OCBC customer service, I feel it's a lot better than some of the local banks...

No, I will not be apply for OCBC again so there will no joke on myself. 1st of all, I didn't not contact cs. 2nd they contacted me and told me that I'm not quanlify and my application been rejected. So, here is my response:
me - may I know what are the reason I been rejected?
(male)cs reply- this is company confidental, therefore please reapply in another 3 months.
me - Why my friend with lower pay and more debt still able to get the cards, I need a explain on this. I don't think I will have issue applying other CC with my quanlification.
(male)cs reply- your friend were getting it or not is not my business, if you not happy please apply other CC.

Close my phone after that.

So, don't you think that sounds like "we OCBC CS are not interested and don't care to have you as our customer at all"? I do admit that I not a very rich guy and don't own million of dollars and OCBC has any right to reject me as they are free to do business with me or not. But still do you think some proper NLP training is needed for that CS?

I don't care they are in 1st, 2nd or 3rd. Any bank also can be on top as long as their investment are going fine. All I care is CS.

Usually banks prefer applicants with credit history (loan and etc.).

Well, I don't have any loan but with credit cards from other banks. I'm still waiting for mine.

By the way, it is "qualify" and "qualification".

Ya I think you are right. But I'm not interested to get into debt. In the end, who knows what will happen to the CC rebate wars. No one knows who will the best in future.

Personally feel that *kie ****, is not a pleasant cs.
