Hi Azarimy,

Any updates on this?

Anyways, I've contacted the Diploma Programme guy from UTMSPACE website, En Abdul.
According to him, there is a part time diploma programme for architecture? which classes are on Saturdays and Sundays,
You know anything about this?

there was a part time diploma in architecture, but like i said, the course is being phased out. i'm not sure if they're taking any new students at the moment.

Hello everyone ^^
actually what i want to ask, it has been asked by someone before
seems like there isn't any specific answer for it
so I have to ask again ~ sorry XD

If now I am going to study BSc (architectural studies) (3years) in KLIUC
or BSc (architecture technology) in UCSI
(1)Can I take LAM part I exam after it ? but it is not B.arch

(2)If yes, after part I exam, can I directly study in (mayb UTM) B.Arch part II ? 2 years?

(3)comparing the courses of UCSI and KLIUC
UCSI : http://www.ucsi.edu.my/v2/foeabe/programme...hitectural.aspx
KLIUC: http://www.kliuc.edu.my/university/index.p...rgraduates.html
Which is better?

I'm sorry~ I don't really understand it~
so it means can?
Owing to my poor understanding skill,
can you give me answer according to the order of my question?
I am sorry for requesting such a troublesome answer
but I have to, because it may influence my future life =)

1. yes. BSc in architecture or its varieties are for part 1. BArch is for part 2. so if u go around and see somebody offering BArch but equivalent to part 1, it's probably some dubious offer or he's just plain mistaken.

2. yes, if u pass.

academically it doesnt matter as neither of them are accredited. so it boils down to your preference on other criteria that YOU think relevant (like cost, distance from home, environment, facilities and all)

KLIUC should be much cheaper. After all, it's linked to gomen.
Best to talk to students who are studying in the unis.

Recent years, the emergent of BIM is certainly unavoidable, there are many debates regarding the choice of using Revit or Archicad, which are two leading player of BIM, i would like to ask that for Malaysia, which 1 is more appropriate for our market or our context?
My computer graphic lecturer actually told us that revit is the future of this business over convention software like Autocad and sketchup~ But i m nt sure if I really need to convert to use revit~
just ask for u guys opinion~thanks in advance~

revit and archicad are basically in the same family, it's a BIM software. but in malaysia, revit is fast becoming like colgate. colgate is widely used that people use it to refer to toothpaste, and not a brand.

in UTM we equip all our students with revit. it's up to them to pickup archicad or not. other universities are following suite as autodesk is quite aggressive by giving out free license to students (just register at their website!). it means that malaysian universities are churning out revit capable graduates en masse, eventually forcing the practice to adapt.

but revit is exclusively PC based, which archicad is on both systems. that's the biggest difference.
