sure, why not?

but what would it get u? if u're looking for some recognized professional capacity for u to perform as a structural engineer, that's not gonna happen.

it gives u added knowledge on structural engineering, especially in research and applied sciences. but what it doesnt give u is basic and intermediate knowledge of structural engineering that u would need in order to be as useful as a proper structural engineer.

if u're currently practicing, and have been involved in let's say, a lot of steel supported tensile structures, and u're looking to design a new structural component that hopefully will be patented under ur name, then yes, u should go for that masters.

but if u just graduated, and didnt know what to do and just looking to spend 1 more year in the university, then dont. it wont give anything extra to u. remember, u're an architecture graduate. and part 1 at that. if u're looking for diversification, this is not the way.

unless u're going for academia.

u have to understand, there isnt a lot u can do with a part 1 degree. people diversify after part 2, not after part 1. if u do, that's not diversification, that's changing career field. for example, u can opt for undergraduates in:

i. landscape architecture
ii. civil engineering
iii. naval architecture
iv. structural engineering
v. interior design
vi. business administration
vii. education
viii. psychology
ix. history/conservation

and so on. but by doing so, u'll venture into a different field, probably skipping 1 or 2 semesters (by acquiring credit exemption from general courses), but it does mean doing everything back from basic.

bottom line is, holding a part 1 architectural degree with a masters in a different field will only lead u to academia.

It is. We are currently on schedule to offer BSc Arch part time for the first time this Sept. We face some problems at the moment, but we are adamant on keeping the deadline.

for part 1, it would be either STPM, matrics or relevant diploma. minimum pointers usually around 2.80, and it is highly recommended that u plan to move to an architectural office.

the part time programme is the same with the fulltime. at the moment, it has still yet to make its way to the website. but if you go to admissions and apply, the course code for the part time programme will be there (MBESA1BKA).
