Hi Aza, Do you mind to elaborate more info about the CPD?
do we need CPD? what purpose actually the CPD?
and how we get the CPD?

Thanks For Sharing !
*
i think this CPD concerning only to graduate architects and practicing architects, as for student i dont think it applies to them much, usually architect firms will send out their emplyee or architects to attend lectures or seminar that give CPD to participants.. but i dont know waht CPD is for? PART 3 renewal i think?

mr aza i just want to ask regarding architecture workshop you guys have done previous year..... so how do you guys get the funding? this year UPM will be handling the workshop and our work is still far from completion and Im afraid we couldnt make it as what Terang's has done...
*
probably u dont benchmark terang, u need to benchmark upm to push as good as u can. terang did well but it is kinda crappy. dont aim for cash, aim for materials. suppliers would be happy to sponsor materials up to rm10k than cash 10k. because ur rm10k spent on that material might cost them rm3k only.

go for material sponsors.

CPD points are about licensing. bcoz architecture is about best practice, we cant afford to have people holding lesen kosong - like having a drivers license, but havent driven any vehicles for a very long time. so to ensure each license holder is actually practicing and more importantly keep themselves up to date with the current happenings, LAM introduced CPD points.

what it does is that, in order to renew ur annual license, u have to accumulate 10 CPD points (or more) by the expiry date. if not, u cant renew ur license. though i'm not exactly sure what u need to do if u didnt renew it. not having a valid license means u cant practice.

how to accumulate CPD points?

u can join PAM or LAM sanctioned events like talks, forums, symposium and so on. u can also participate in volunteer works, but have to be sanctioned by LAM as well. or u could attach urself to schools and give crits and so on.

yes, she's able to apply. rejection from this uni does not affect your chances in other unis. moreover she's after matriks next time she applies.

yes. not being accepted is different from rejecting. it means that they didnt offer u at all, which allows u to reapply again, and again and again. rejection means they offer something to u, but u decline. actually most IPTs dont really mind if u reject them, as long as u have a good reason (family, budget, timing and so on). but some do keep a record (and a grudge!), so it's safer to NOT reject any offer!

so bottom line is, so long as u're not rejecting any offers, u can keep on applying until u're bored or until they actually offer u a place.
