QUOTE(panafone @ Apr 7 2011, 01:14 AM) Hi, Just an update on my p42x28k problem. The guys from Panasonic came to my house last Friday and changed something on the TV. I'm not sure what it was as I was at work and my dad was the one who handled it. The TV was still under the 2-year warranty so it was FOC.I own a p42x28k plasma tv and recently I'm seeing a green horizontal line going across the screen about a third of the way from the bottom. It's not very apparent normally, but in darker scenes, you can see it clearly. I'm callling Panasonic's customer service tomorrow as it's not even a year old yet, so it's still within the warranty period. Hopefully it's nothing major. Has anyone else encountered this? Anyway, the TV's working great now. |

The 42X30K is going for RM1,999. I'm sure its better, but how much better, I can't really say for sure as I've never really paid detail attention to last year X20s. I looked at it briefly during my lunch break only. Dimension wise, it's not alot slimmer then the 2010 sets.

I noticed that there is a buzzing sound whenever I switch sources or before a movie is played.. is it due to hdmi or sound interfearance? Very annoying sound especially from a supposedly good model.
I also noticed this noise in my LG plasma and have to switch off the tv speakers to eliminate the buzz. However I can't find any off switch for the Panasonic. If I put mute.. the sound is still there. Any ideas how to solve this or is it a problem with the plasma? Btw its brand new out of the box and not a display set. It's the 50in Vt20 series model. Besides this, the recommended option for picture is THX but the overall seems yellowish compared to other options. Wondering why thx uses white that is yellowish? How to further fine-tune it? Buzzing is normal from the plasma, does it buzz more during bright sequences? There are 2 kinds of buzzing, does the buzzing seem less if u move 2/3 feet to ur right and left? If yes, then there is an accoustic anomaly due to ur seating position and the room. If not, then check to see if intensity changes with the pciture contrast during different scenes. THX out of the box is pretty good but its slightly yellow cast. To get rid of this u need to calibrate. The THX modes target a gamma of 2 which is not ideal if u view in a dim environment. Calibrate the Pro modes that are more accurate. I will let u know when I in KL next. |

Im using my notebook for media player so maybe the intensity is too high..nevertheless I only set it to cinema mode. I will be transferring a dedicated sigma media player to the room so hopefully this will be eliminated. It doesnt buzz when I use the bundled 3d bluray player.
Hope to see u when u come to KL This post has been edited by DannyOP: Apr 12 2011, 10:20 AM |

U need to get ur settings right to minimize it. I would suggest turning on IFC to minimum, the motion issues will reduce, but u will get other artefacts. U need to select the lesser of 2 evils. |
